Wings had their top 5 centers out at the same time for a part of the season. That far outweighs an injury to your 2nd best defenseman

You are correct. Earlier in the season when they were healthy they sucked alot of the times. When the injuries started, the guys called up came in and stepped up in a big way. Some of the others (Brendan Smith, for one) improved their play tremendously.

He still makes mistakes, but he's limited them.

I agree. 1 penalty call all game which is fine but I have seen 30 things on both teams that could have been called.

2 PP's and both to the wings.

Look at the Pens. Some major injuries but still came in 2nd in the east. The Wings are learning the east is just as tough as the west, that's all. And the refs let a penalty go against the wings. Awesome

The Chara penalty had to be called, but they let so much go, just keep it that way. It's been an exciting game.
