Rest In Peace Boo. I was hoping to see more of Derek this season and was pissed when he left the ice.

Sucks!

Extremely terrible news to hear about any player. My condolences to all Wild/Ranger fans.

RIP big guy.

That fox sports msn site raised a virus alert, some kind of java issue.

Anyway, it's good to have some benefit come from this tragedy.

One good thing, IMO, is that it will be very usefulnto have the brain of a guy who fights in the NHL at an early stage. Personally, I do not think this was a head thing, and if it was it was not CTE. it is way too early on his life. This way having the brain of an enforcer without it, this early in his life will be a very useful piece tithe puzzle. I agree that it is good to know that some good or knowledge will come out of the awful tragedy.

This could reveal something interesting about career fighters. Look at guys like Riley Cote and Boogard. Probably wouldn't make an NHL roster based on skill but they use their assets and make the best of it.

A study here could really be the demise of players fighting to make a living in the NHL.

And the chance for somebody who is on the cusp and ACTUALLY PLAYS HOCKEY for a living....how about that. :peace2:

I don't know about that. They found that in Chris Henry's brain after he died and he was only 26.

Researchers: Chris Henry had brain damage at the time of his death - ESPN
