Boise State softball hands U.N.L.V. their worst loss of the season

After Boise State had their 17 game winning streak ended on Friday, by U.N.L.V. (8-1), the Boise State softball team rebounded and soundly beat U.N.L.V. in the 2nd game of the three game MWC series by scoring runs in every inning played last night and beat U.N.L.V. 11-2 in a run rule shortened 5 inning game.

The Boise State bats were alive all thru the game yesterday. The Broncos had a total of 13 hits in that game (6 for UNLV) in only 28 at bats. Boise State opened the game with three consecutive hits and opened a 3-0 lead after the first inning. The Broncos added another run in the 2nd and 3rd innings and led 5-0 after three innings. And added 2 more runs in the fourth inning to lead 7-1 over the Rebels. Needing 2 more runs in the 5th to run rule the Rebels the Broncos scored 4 more runs in the top of the 5th and led UNLV 11-1. UNLV scored one more run in the 5th and the game ended with a final score of 11-2.

Gianna Mancha pitched all five innings for Boise State and gave up six hits and only one earned run with 2 strikeouts and 3 walks.
