Nice to see the younger generations exposed to actually good music. I liked the movie, but felt that it was a bit too safe in its depiction of Freddie Mercury. It's impossible to tell his story correctly with a PG movie. They absolutely nailed the Live Aid concert.

I haven’t seen it, but one criticism I have heard is that Malek looks more like Mick Jagger than Freddie Mercury. I have noticed that in the trailers I have seen, they never showed his face. It was always showing his back.

IMO, Malek killed it. Everything depended on him and he absolutely nailed the part. Great casting choices with the rest of the band... The guy playing Brian May is uncanny in his resemblance to the young Brian May..

The film takes a lot of liberties and is not historically accurate, but it still gets the essence of the band and their relationship with each other. It's not perfect … but the music is great, it's a good time at the movies.

Those critics are dumb. His mannerisms and delivery are great. I was apprehensive because Freddie’s talent was on another level to me, but I was convinced.
Yes, the facts were fudged a bit, but as a vehicle to entertain, I think it hit the mark.

I saw this on Tuesday. It is fantastic. Malek was superb. The whole cast is great. The music grabs you. For a 2 hour and 15-minute movie, it flew by. The Live Aid performance was awesome.

When the credits were rolling and they played a video of Queen performing.....I was like, they could be twins.

I agree with the band members. That is what is what documentaries are for.

Are you talking about the fact that he died because he had a bunch of unprotected butt sex with dudes? Because that's like one of the only ways to get AIDS. I would have just not done that and not gotten AIDS.
