On NHL Live today Ray Shero said he's telling GM's interested in Staal that he isn't available. The Penguins want to sign him.

Was music to my ears to hear Shero say he has no intention of trading Staal. He also said Staal has mentioned nothing in regards to leaving the Pens for a greater role elsewhere.

Honestly I think he'd be a good fit for the Rangers. Ryan would be over 2M cheaper in salary & wouldn't cost as much in terms of players/prospects/picks. Ryan is younger too.

I've read that Buffalo is very interested. Derek Roy in a package deal.
