Money can't buy happiness, but it can buy bacon
Actually, it's Canuck Place...
In my last message, I asked you to join me in bringing the spirit of the season to Canuck Place through Precious Gifts. As a long-time supporter, I know first-hand the big difference that even a small gesture can make to families caring for a sick child over the holidays.
Precious Gifts is a wish list of items that offer comfort, care and joy to children and families at Canuck Place. When you make a gift in honour of a loved one, you can send them a lovely e-card about how your gift has helped. With over 50 items, there is something for everyone on your holiday shopping list:
A gift of $35 can provide a science game or activity to help school-aged children discover and develop their abilities
A gift of $70 can provide a warm and welcoming Sunday brunch for families spending their weekend at the hospice
A gift of $150 can provide a full tank of gas for the wheelchair-accessible van so children and teens can go on field trips, including Canucks games!
And, new this year, Precious Gift Baskets – a collection of the most popular gifts to support a child, teen, family and even Poppy – the Therapy Dog.
If I've learned anything from spending time at Canuck Place, it's that every day is precious. And no matter what you choose, Precious Gifts will make life brighter for these kids and families. That's a big win in my books! So join me and gets your today.
Best wishes for a happy and healthy holiday season from everyone at Canuck Place – staff, volunteers, and especially, the children and families.
Sincerely,
Roberto Luongo
