Wow that suck's ! Probert was animal in his day and had some personal issues but you hate to see anyone die that young.

RIP Bob.

TSN has the story too...

Report: Probert rushed to hospital with no vital signs

According to a report on Windsor radio station AM 800 CKLW, former NHL tough guy Bob Probert was rushed to hospital with vital signs absent after collapsing in a boat on Lake St. Clair on Monday.

Both the Windsor Star and AM 800 CKLW report that emergency crews performed CPR on the former Red Wings and Blackhawks' forward and then transported him to Windsor Regional Hospital.

An OPP spokesperson would not confirm the boating victim to be Probert to the Star.

RIP. One of the last true, legit heavyweight champs of hockey. BGL is a huggybear in comparison.

Sad...Always had his demons but was one of the best enforcers ever. Scored (I believe) 29 goals one year while racking up over 300 PIMs.

R.I.P. Bob.

Wow, such a young age. I wouldn't be surprised if an autopsy found some long term effects from all those fights. RIP Bob Probert

Remember watching him and Mcsorley go at for an eternity in '94? I ran out of breath just watching them. They subtlely gave each other props and skated off the ice.

This really sucks for me. My two favorite sports are hockey and boxing, and the true heavyweights in both sports are a dying (dead?) breed.

this is the only reason i would condone getting rid of fighting in the league...i'm okay with it because it does have a purpose in my opinion and it is dying part of the sport. it's not encouraged as much at least. however...it does horrific things to your head...(athletic trainer, i gotta hate it)

I'm sure the fighting didn't help, but I'm pretty sure cocaine and alcohol did most of the damage.
