"You tell me" is probably my favorite. He's probably said it 3-4 times.
I'm always waiting for a reporter to have the guts to actually tell him "you're d-line gets shoved around like girl scouts and don't finish plays, your back 7 don't tackle well and are constantly running around with their hands in the air looking to the sidelines between plays".

I would finish that with "You asked".

Another all time fav is "I haven't forgotten how to stop the run" just days before Ohio hung 63 on em.

I doubt we'll hear that one again though.

Bo indeed said, "I've been around the NFL for quite a few years, I know what it takes to be an NFL QB.....and there is no doubt in my mind that Taylor will be playing QB at the NFL level."

In my opinion, he's going to have to make major strides this season in the passing game. No NFL team is going to want him dropping back and stumbling around with his indecisive footwork.

The running is great and all.......but it's the footwork that will turn off pro scouts.

IMO it's touch. When Taylor has to make a throw that requires a bit of touch (short or long) it's :L time. 8 yd bullet, 12 yd bullet, 5 yd bullet, he's fine most of the time. To my recollection he's never hit a rcvr 'in stride' on a long ball. Maybe Niles Paul in the Holiday Bowl, but I can't remember if it was Taylor or Lee that threw that.

I was pretty fuckin shocked.

I feel like maybe he just got on a roll and started saying things that he regretted as soon as they left his mouth.

It's like Taylor has been sneaking in Bo's room while he's sleeping and playing a subliminal message tape of how great T-Magic is and it's brainwashed Bo into thinking Taylor's the greatest Nebraska quarterback ever. That he's the GOAT.

I've always thought it's the other way around and Bo's the one filling Taylor's mind with that stuff.

Bo's the one who gave Taylor the opportunity to play QB out of high school when others were just offering as a Safety. Bo fell in love with him after the spring game 4 years ago and never looked back.

It's been like a personal challenge for Bo to see if he can actually get a square peg to fit into a round hole.

Taylor's throwing mechanics make Tebow look like Tom Brady. It is painful to watch him throw.

I thought so.

So can someone show where Taylor (in three seasons) has ever hit a rcvr in stride on a long ball?

Long ball meaning where you have to use touch and put air under it. 35 yds or more.

Remember the wide open (fail) pass to Burkhead down the sideline against Texas?
It's that type of throw that required touch.

All that gonna happen is Taylor gonna get exposed and laughed at when scouts break him down

Qb is the most scrutinized position they will break everything he does good or bad mechanics everything down.you won't be able to hide your flaws. Not mention they don't like spread qbs only know bc of Wilson RG3 and Colin will spread qbs get looks.

IMO he needs to have a hell of a season to get looks.

He has '11 osu game to big Q out of the diamond formation that it tho.

Usually the wr that had gotten most of the deep throws has been reed our hybrid TE and he has always had to wait or slow down

'10 Ksu game
'10okie st game
'11 Washington game with bell
'11 Fresno st game reed
'11 Michigan kinnie

If memory serves me right these guys had to wait up and didn't catch it in stride .

Deep ball or touch isn't tmart greatest attributes. And that all from his mechanics and release. Just watch how RG3 threw deep back in college and you can see how accurate and beautiful it is.

^^^^

And that is why Taylor will not likely be an NFL QB.

I don't believe you can teach those things and your best QB's are naturals when it comes to putting the right touch on a ball no matter where it needs to be delivered. Tebow is a perfect example of try all you want, spend the money and get the best training available. Unfortunately you either have the natural mechanics or you don't. If it were that easy to teach, every rich kid would be an NFL star.

Taylor can still win at this level if he makes good decisions, has blocking, holds onto the ball, has teammates that hold onto the ball, and a decent defense.

Gill, Frazier, Frost, and Crouch all won at high levels but weren't NFL caliber.

It's not on Taylor. The team needs to play better, and that's on the coaching staff.

That pass should have been caught though.......Rex didn't even need to break stride really......just had to extend his arms.

As I recall that was probably Rex's worst play as a Husker. That along with the fumble inside the 5 yard line when Iowa State beat us at home.

I do know what you're saying though. A better pass and he likely doesn't drop it.

That Texas game is one of the few games fans could have played and probably made a bigger difference. The fans were that amped up!! Blood was in the air and water until that first Texas drive

Everyone's so hung up on his first two years. He was a good passer last season and his mechanics looked a lot better.

His mechanics look even better right now from what I'm hearing and seeing.

I can't wait for him to prove people wrong.

The one that scared me and I hope we never hear it again was "I don't know. I wish I knew."

He improved his mechanics but he panics under pressure. Not that I blame him. Most snaps last season were 1 thousand 1, 1 thousand t...shit.

Our line only made it worse but when the pressure is on his completion ratio takes a quick dive and doesn't recover.
