honestly theres more to see past bo nix stats. they had the highest number of RAC yards in the nation to go along with he was rarely pressured. they ran a large percentage of screens and check downs and short passing game. very rarely did he throw the ball down field.

Leftwich threw the same nice ball, but was more of a statue that could take the hits. From what I've seen.

I am proud of my Leftwich/Penix comparison. Been able to watch a lot of Penix from his time at Indiana and Washington and it clicked on me midway through this season. Felt like I was watching Byron Leftwich at Marshall again.

take that reverse video with Penix throwing right handed and bump it up against Leftwich

be interesting to see the release time and motion of each

i watched both. Leftwich drops the ball below his waist and has a big windup. the distance between the ball and his helmet is lot greater than the distance between Penix hand and his helmet.
Penix never drops the ball below mid sternum.

Speaking of QB it is hard to believe Oklahoma State QB Alan Bowman is getting a 7th year of eligibility.

Taulia Tagovailoa who earlier declared for the draft has now hit the portal with the hopes he will get an extra year of eligibility if he does looks like he will transfer with MJ Morris already at Maryland.

He connected with Troy Franklin a good amount down the field. Tez Johnson a little later in the year too. Franklin averaged nearly 18 yards a catch this year, 14 touchdowns including a few long ones. One of which was 84 yards. 84 yarder wasn't a bomb but it was down the field. He doesn't have the deep ball down like Penix but he has shown he can throw the ball down the field. I don't think it will be his specialty in the NFL but he can do it.

Penix is a better deep ball thrower then Nix.
Nix is better intermediate thrower then Penix.

Both do good things. Neither is a slam dunk that is for sure.

Bet you anything if Taulia gets his extra year he will end up with the Miami Hurricanes.

They need a QB after losing Van Dyke to Wisconsin. Emory Williams needs competition as he doesn't look ready to start and Tags brother is in Miami already, sooooo.

What's hilarious is that for a part of the QB market - college pays better than the pros.

He will fit right into our offense, most of our passes went 18 inches

I'm a Giants fan. I want him. Bo Nix is a cool name. You can win a Sb with a guy named Bo Nix.

Take it with a grain of salt, but the reports from Senior Bowl aren't kind to Nix. Trouble operating under center and not processing the field well are the reports. That jives with what I saw as a shotgun one read QB even though he put up huge numbers in an easy system that didn't require much processing or any under center. I don't understand why people match him with Payton as Payton likes to be able to play from under center and requires his QB's to read the entire field. I am sure Nix can grow, but he is also an older prospect at 24.

Broncos have interviewed Michael Pratt a couple of times at the Senior Bowl. So much can happen between now and the draft but it's possible they take another position of need at #12 or trade down to get a 2nd round pick. A guy like Pratt could be picked up in the middle rounds.
