Sorry for your loss???
I mean, this is a great deal for Toronto, but what are the Padres getting out of this?
BA had him as the 18th best prospect in the Jays system.$17M for a Single A prospect!
They want to clear roster spots for some of their young players in the minor leagues. Margot and Renfroe could both be part of the major league roster by the end of this season or start of next season and if Melvin was on the team then either they'd be bench players or Upton would be. Neither of those ideas makes sense, so they trade Upton while his value is high. That's also why they want to move Norris, to give Hedges a shot with how great he's been in AAA. The only thing I question is if they got the best return possible for Upton because multiple teams were interested, paying the money is okay because it doesn't really change the outlook for 2017.I don't understand what the Padres are doing. There was a lot of talk of a Melvin Upton for Ubaldo Jimenez deal with the Orioles. I mean...wtf is that??? Why were the Padres so desperate to get Upton off their team?
he must have been on the wrong end of the BJ
