You have never been so eloquent DC.

The Broncos seem to be trying to ramp up on guys who have a history of blocking kicks - one of the most exciting plays in football (depending on the rooting interest).

Fascinating thread. Anyway, I think this was my biggest disappointment in losing Bruton. Dude was a master at blocking kicks.

I blocked two kicks in my high school semifinal game in 97'. A Field Goal and a punt. Didn't even go for the ball on the punt, but rather launched myself straight at the punter when I knew I'd get to the ball.

I don't think dude had even been hit before.

Blocked kicks rock

Bruton did have a knack for splitting the line though. I think he blocked 2-3 punts in his time, but he was close to probably a half dozen more......a couple right off the tips of his fingers. Gonna miss that dude, but I'm happy he's gonna get a look as starter in Washington. My guess is he flourishes getting 30-40 snaps a game.

Ill be honest. I never remember Bruton blocking a kick in his career.

I remember him blocking a few punts. Not sure I'd call him a master at it though.

Played hockey growing up but I can imagine how satisfying it would be to level a punter. I remember one time playing against this guy who just didn't know when to STFU, starting getting on my nerves. So towards the end of the game I get a one on one break against him. Saw he was following the puck rather than me so i put it through his legs and steamrolled the bastard. Has to be one of my favorite hits, along with a couple perfectly timed hip checks that flipped people...those are always fun :D
