Fuck me, JD is reporting an actual news story.

Even if it is just a pic of a tweet.

Straight 5-year deal. No options is what I'm seeing. Not so dumb after all holding out.

I've done so many times on this board and this site in general.

That's $10 mil short of what he was asking for. Both parties compromised. But $14 mil < $16 mil he was seeking. It is greater than the $12 mil the Suns originally offered.

And there is still plenty of money to extend Dragic.

I thought their original offer was less than $12mil per?

It was & the Suns compromised at $14 mil per.

Suns' offer: 4/$48
Bledsoe's: 5/$80

They met in the middle it seems at 5/$70

Edit: The issue all along was his shady agent who made big promises & couldn't deliver. It was his responsibility to get a max offer for his client since that was their demand. When the offers didn't come, he started complaining that the Suns where using the RFA tag against his client.

If Dragic does get a nice extension starting next season, the Suns will have around half their cap space committed to just 3 PGs.

He's now (more than likely) going to demand a similar deal...... if not more.

Ah, that's where I was screwed up...the length of the original offer.

I think people are forgeting that with the new TV deal, the cap is likely to get bumped up by $10 mil in the next few seasons. The Suns had $20 mil in space before this deal.

Between that & the ability to go about $10 mil over the cap if needed to resign him, the Suns should have around $25 mil to spend next season before they go over the tax line.

Now it's time to work on the Morris x2 contract extensions & set the ground work for Dragics contract next summer.
