Geoffrion update: he's at the hospital, had surgery, head injury - head hit the ice on the way down. His parents are with him.

He of the famous bloodlines.
best wishes for a speedy recovery

What a hit.
Geoffreon tried to cut inside? Or didn't see him coming at all.

Reports are that he will be out indefinitely, but he's expected to make a full recovery. Good news.

Not that massive of a hit, but he went down awkwardly, which is where the damage happened.

Blake Geoffrion: "I was cleared by the neurosurgeon and the club’s medical staff to return home for a 3-week period of complete rest."

Sad that his career ended this way, but he has a long life to live better not to waste it.

^^ this ^^

Blue Jackets hire former Hab Geoffrion as scout

Former Montreal forward Blake Geoffrion has been hired as a scout by the Columbus Blue Jackets a day after he announced his retirement from the NHL at age 25.

Geoffrion, the grandson of former Canadiens star Bernie Geoffrion and great-grandson of Howie Morenz, left the game due to lingering effects of a skull fracture and concussion sustained during an American Hockey League game in November.

He was selected by Nashville in the second round of the 2006 draft and had eight goals and five assists in 55 career NHL games with the Predators and Montreal.

The Blue Jackets also announced that former NHL defenceman Bob Halkidis has been added to the team's scouting staff.

And he already has a paying job.

Nice of the Blue Jackets to step up and bring Blake into the fold (kind of surprised the Habs didn't do so as the Geoffrion name is legendary with le bleu, blanc et rouge).

I bet he's a mole planted by the Habs to infiltrate the inner workings of the Blue Jackets seemingly unstoppable machine and assist in pilfering their young talent.

I hope he enjoys his retirement from the game. That had to be scary, glad he recovered well.

Or to try to convince them to take on some of Montreal's less desirable contracts at the trade deadline.

Even a mole couldn't convince them to take Gomez though.
