Idk about u guys, but all my attention will be on the d line this sat. Prob won't take my eyes off them.
For T.O. or Eichorst to tell Bo how to coach his team is one thing they wouldn't do. To allow him to shit on long standing traditions that are an identity of the program is another, and they are well within their right to tell him what to do regarding blackshirt policy.
Pederson had all the portraits of Husker all-americans removed and they were found in a closet after he was ousted. Perleman claimed he knew nothing about the goings on until boosters quit donating and the best fundraiser resigned. Money talks.
Jed even posted a thread about a booster opening his 'big mouth' about tne blowouts.
No. They ate not within their rights to tell him how to assign blackshirts. That affects team chemistry and personnel decisions, so I completely disagree with that notion. What's next? They gonna start telling Bo what sches to run? How to gameplan? This is dangerous rhetoric.
Sure. They can bitch and moan about the FINAL product. They can complain about the wins and losses, but they should never be able to affect HOW that final product is achieved.
I mean I'm not saying its beyond the realm of possibility that some boosters made threats to pull their donations, but I doubt Bo would cater to those kinds of demands. I think with the way the season ended, he knew if he didn't show willingness to change, then it would be a sticking point if things go south again. He prob figured out it was more of a distraction and hindrance NOT handing out the Blackshirts than it would be to hand them out before the season.
