Bill O'Brien's Alabama contract is done once the Tide finish the season after their Bowl game.

Felger & Mazz are reporting that Robert Kraft has contacted O'Brien about his plans after this season.

According to Wickersham's book, Bill O'Brien was told that he was next in line to take over the Patriots when he was the OC.

Is Robert Kraft going to tell BB to rehire O'Brien? What will the conversation be? Either/Or? Think Bill will threaten to walk? Think Kraft will say rehire him or your done?

Stay tuned Patriots fans and haters, the NFL Hot Stove has kindling and there are still ten weeks to go before the Super Bowl

I suspect the conversation will take place, whether BB is being forced or not is another question. For all we know BB didn't lure him away as a personal favor to Saban. Or maybe O'Brien wanted to finish the terms of his contract.

I bolded the part that applies to almost any team related response on this board... So much speculating when for all we know.....

Compounded by the fact the media does not always provide accurate or full content. Selective media postings are problematic IMO

Every media guy has a source somewhere in every team staff. They get bits and pieces and then call other people they know who are working with the team that something is supposedly cooking or to someone working the same team who has a different source. The get three or four little bits and start moving forward with it. Pretty soon six other guys add their little chunks and the story suddenly has legs. Usually we hear it and start discussing it and add all of the "what ifs" and "could this" and by the time that there are twenty responses, the original rumor has turned into name calling and altering of the original statement.

In my opinion, three guys discussing something on television says that someone did some research and and vetted what they have. These guys have a reputation and the TV station has some civic responsibility not to broadcast 100% bullshit. Advertisers don't want to be part of false stuff because that makes their product look bad.

Felger and Mazz believe that Kraft is involved and that Bill will have to listen and fall in line. The Krafts got pretty used to being the top dogs in the owners' kennel and being the runt of the litter may not be sitting well. Maybe they're thinking a bit outside the box about where THEY want this team to go. This is a six billion dollar empire and they're not going to let anyone devalue it, even Bill Belichick. Money talks, shit walks.

He couldn't be doing any worse than what Judge and Patricia are doing right now...

I do agree thought that they Patriots need new blood and switch things up completely if they want to progress and get anywhere but O'Brien would be a good starting point and then move on from him

And we really need explosive players on the ourside. We really don't have a WOW WR

Randy Moss last WOW receiver...

Parker has the possibility to be something special (Not Moss) but could be but won't turn into anything with this current offense

Actually, this could work, last time around 3 seasons with high winning record for O’Brien as OC. There was Brady and all that but he was able to adapt and create a powerful offense.

He's back! Bill O'Brian has a reputation of being "intense" He sounds "all in"

Sounds like he's not going to accept shit play and then take the blame for it.

Doesn't appear to be any Prima Dona's on this squad. Everyone will have to work to get a spot. Then they'll have to work to get targeted.
