Biggest concern after 4 preseason games

Matthew Stafford.

Not that QB is our weakest position; to the contrary, we presume it to be a position of strength. And hopefully it ends up being so. But that's the problem - he has looked like crap for 4 weeks. Biggest disappointment of camp, for me. And this, when he was expected to be primed for a huge bounceback after last year's digression. I'm concerned. Come on, Matthew!

He is struggling with the short passing game we now employ. Hopefully it does not take long for him to settle down. I think teams will get sick of all the dumpoffs and screens and eventually bring the safeties up and not triple team Megatron anymore. It should allow for a more balanced passing game. If teams decide to sit back then Akers will kick about 60 FGs this year because we will be marching down the field if the safeties are deep against this offense. Heck, I might consider using some 2 back formations too. Sit Burleson and just have Pettigrew with Broyles and Megatron.

That's not good news. Unlike most of you guys I haven't watched a minute of pre-season, but his numbers have looked lousy. They aren't going anywhere unless he's better than last season when he was missing guys by too much too often. I take it he's still having accuracy issues ?

Calvin hasn't played the last three games. I'll worry about Staff once the regular season starts and he looks bad. Too many variables otherwise.

The passing game. Hopefully staff plays like 2011 staff or it will be another long season. Yeah he didnt have CJ in and yeah no one on det is any good receiver wise besides CJ bu staff couldnt even throw a pass close when they are open. 2nd biggest concern, schwartzs giant ego.

I'm much more worried about our receivers than Stafford. They couldn't get an automatic door open and couldn't catch syphilis on a trip to Thailand.

I get the staff was keeping things really vanilla for the regular season. But Stafford can't get off to a slow start against the Vikings. They have owned Detroit in the first half last season and Detroit has had to play catch up in the second quarter.

I will be interested to see if his mechanics look better or if he keeps slinging it sidearm.
