Since a lot of us are in a feisty mood this morning, Who has been a bigger disappointment/choker in the playoffs since 2006, the Washington Capitals or San Jose Sharks?

Describe why you feel the way you do.

My answer, very close to a tie, but got to hand it to the Sharks.

My reasoning? Joe Thornton, Evgeni Nabokov and Patrick Marleau are much older than Ovechkin, Semin, Backstrom and Green. Those guys still have a lot they can learn and grow from.

The only reason why I have it as close is because I believe that since 2006, it's been tougher sledding making it through the playoffs in the WC. I mean the Anaheim Ducks (with Getzlaf, Perry, Ryan, Pronger and Niedermeyer) as an 8th seed? Really??? They also both have really embarrassing playoff exits to Montreal and the Oilers.

What say you?

I'd go with the Caps. But it is real close. I believe they have put up better numbers during the regular season consistently, yet fall apart in the playoffs.

You want to know the really fucked up part? Looking back on it, I think the Sharks would have gotten steamrolled by the Anaheim Duck team that lost to the Oilers. I'd rather lose to the Coilers than the Ducks.

I remember I actually wanted Calgary to beat Anaheim so that the Sharks would have played Colorado (I think they had a bunch of injuries that year, but I can't remember). I thought they were going to be an easier draw than the Coilers. Also, if Calgary and the Coilers played each other, they'd have been beat the F up if the Sharks got by the Avs.

Dare I say both have equally acquiesced to unsubstantial opposition in recent years.

If Friggin' Huselius would have scored in game 6 late (rings it off the crossbar), the Flames would have won that series against the Ducks and we would have seen a Calgary - Edmonton matchup I believe.

Yup, the Flames would have met up with the Oilers that year had they held off Analslime. After doing some research, I now remember why I wanted the Avs instead of the Oilers.....Jose Threeormore in nets.....and it would have meant that the Ducks were out of the playoffs.

Going with the Caps since the Sharks at least got through to the conference finals.

Sharks. They are older and have been doing it longer. Washington may one day surpass San Jose's choking greatness but for now that title is San Jose's to lose (just like the playoffs!)

Also, I'm glad the Devils have a few cups already because since the lockout they have been up there with the best of them in terms of choking (Game 7 against Carolina anyone?).
