Can we trade Eric Francis for Don Brennan?!? Why are the majority of sports writers for Sun Media complete asswipes?

Don't know Dash but they are asswipes. Pretty much all of them. They wouldn't know what the word professionalism means even if you told them.

Yes, I will agree with him that Clouston probably deserves to go but not for this one coaching mistake. He deserves to go for a series of coaching mistakes he's made all season long. The way this article is written, it's like he wrote it right after the game as he was pissed off. Not exactly the best time to do so.

I don't think this was a mistake on Clouston's part. You're dealing with a young goaltender, so don't overwork him. And I wouldn't call one game a "winning formula" anyway.

Back-to-back games, you should almost always play one goaltender one night and the other the other night. And you should especially do that if it means a rookie's going to have to play 4 games in 6 nights, no matter where those other games were played.

I agree with you. I didn't really see it as a coaching mistake either and I should have clarified. I was refrencing Brennan who obviously thought it was and really went after Clouston hard. But the fact is that Lehner needs to be put in a position where he can succeed and it would have been his 4th game in 6 nights. Might as well give him the night off and let him start on Sunday.

Now what I will say is that I do think Clouston has made tons of coaching mistakes this year though. He's put players in positions where they weren't comfortable and the system he has implemented this year is far far too passive. Not to mention line combos and his insistance on putting Gonchar on the left side during the power play. I haven't liked how he's dealt with the goalies at time either.

I think this Lehner situation is a positive step for Clouston, not a negative one. He's starting to learn about what players are capable of and how he should deal with it and that's a good thing.
