Come to the PAC like you already should have and bring UT with you. Damn that would be so sick to see those two teams compete in the conference of champions. Can you imagine? I mean the match ups.
Yea that 11pm est tilt between OU and Cal will be amazing to the 300 people that stay up to see it...

No member including OU has that option until the GOR is up so, may as well make it work for that short term if for no other reason to strengthen your own schedule for a chance at the playoff.
Eh, piss on the GOR. Let Texas and OU get the hell out and let CFB get on with the four megaconference shit that has been speculated since realignment began. DO IT NOW!

Nope, more likely some of those PAC schools heading to the Big12. Texas and OU don't have to inconvenience themselves by going to the west coast to better their situation, they can bring the west coast to them.

There's a better chance of Saban and Harbaugh taking a bubble bath together than any Pac schools leaving.

Isn't "the conference of champions" talking more about Olympic sports? Honestly Texas already schedules Cal, UCLA, and USC so I see no need to go to the pac. Plus pissing away 15mil a year just to play Arizona yearly sounds like a horrible plan.

The total revenue for the UT athletic department is approaching $200,000,000/year. Yea, they'd really be hurting without that $15 Million. Poor bastards would be reduced to penury without it. Same with Oklahoma. Stoops would have to start giving blow jobs behind the 7-11 for gas money to get the team to away games.

15mil a year is a huge chunk of change. So the athletic dept will lose a 3rd of our tv revenue, traveling expenses will rise to travel to the west coast, and we'll be on tv at 9pm cst. Sounds like an awesome deal, sign us up.

I've been wondering about this item for several teams. Just how much fuckin' money do they need? And the ones that don't bring in that kind of coin are trying to keep up with the ones that do...and that ain't gonna happen unless they Knights, TBoones, etal. Many of them give back to the school. Here's another idea. Bring ticket prices back down where average Joe can take the whole family to a game.

On the other hand you would get better games to watch, you would get to associate with a higher class of universities, you would get to recruit in the California area better than ever before, you would finally be in a stable conference......... Yea, you're right; there's no upside. Gotta stay on your knees in the Dead Man Walking Conference for that $15 Million because ya desperately need it.

1)better games, hahahahaha.
2)you're thinking Big ten and ACC
3) We have cherry picked California from time to time, but mainly don't need to recruit there.
4)How stable will it be when the ACC passes it $$$ wise?

I get it, OU fans want to go. Bye, we'll keep the RRSO so you can rub shoulders with us.

1. We can recruit Texas without the UT game. All we have to do is schedule whoever we want to play in Texas and they'll put us on their schedule often enough to handle that issue. Plus we could play games in Jerry World against high caliber teams so don't get on your high horse. You need the OU game even more than we need the Texas game because without Oklahoma you are stuck in a seriously shitty conference although I'd rather keep playing it if we can.

2. If you equate K State, Iowa State, Baylor, Tech, etc. with Stanford, Southern Cal, UCLA, Washington, Oregon, etc. there's no hope in having a discussion with you.

3. Hurray. You cherry picked. Nothing like cherry picking when you could harvest like a mofo.

4. Still worried about the money, huh? Poor Texas. Here everyone thought you guys were richer than six inches up a bull's ass. Guess we're all wrong. LMAO

So, let's really Piss the Big XII off. Houston is admitted. Tom Hermann takes the UT job. Then Houston rehired Art Briles.

What about that 11pm tilt between OU and Stanford or Oregon or USC or UCLA? If they're college football fans, they'll stay up and watch.

UT versus Arizona would be a good game. And even though the Mildcats are somewhat mediocre, I'm sure it's one you guys would have lost many more times than won these past seven to eight seasons or so.

I can see why Oklahoma would want to come to the Pac 12, but football wise, it doesn't make sense for Texas. The trade off with isn't worth it. Texas won't recruit any better in California but giving 10 teams, not SC and UCLA, free access to cherry pick some Texas recruits isn't a great deal for them.

Our conference will be fine monetarily. We are playing hard ball with cable providers who don't carry the network yet because they won't take all of our regional networks. Every game needs to be televised regardless of the match up is what is the hang up. Plus we'll be fine when ESPN is a shell of itself when our contract expires. We have gambled greatly on the television bubble popping and Fox becomes the undisputed champion of sports broadcasting.

2. Baylor and Tech are good games, shoot Tech has done well vs Pac schools in bowl games. Don't forget OSU, WSU, Utah, Colorado, AZ, all bad games.

3. We are in a state where we will fill out 90% of our roster, even if we wanted more cali kids we don't have room.

4. I can see business and math isn't your thing.

They bring Houston. Or at least more of it.

The Houston market is already saturated and most alumni there are not Houston alumni. They don't help.
