In a heart beat! I hate KAT. He’s a dog and he’ll never win big in his life. He’s one of those guys who loves the life more than he loves basketball. Gobert offensively is a screener and put back guy. He isn’t even comfortable in pick and roll as a roller and lob threat. Simmons doesn’t have a jump shot but he at least has an offensive role and he’s one of the best transition players in the league. Two years ago he led the league on assists on 3 point baskets.

Either way…I’d take one KD over KAT Ant and Gobert. Kyrie and Simmons is just gravy in that head to head comparison.

So the guy has a career 65 pct shooting but no post game? Holy fuck, dude is the best sharpshooter in NBA history!!!!
When most of his attempts are offensive rebound put backs you could argue that shooting percentage should be even higher. The only shots he takes are bunnies within 3 ft of the rim.

74% of his shots were inside 3 feet, average distance overall of 2.7 ft. He's a put-back machine. The only guys with a shorter average attempt are Mitchell Robinson, Clint Capela, and Robert Williams.

Interesting stats: shortest average attempt for a non big (PF/C) was Bruce Brown last year (8.4'). Longest was Duncan Robinson (22.7').
I know. I also didn't like the trade. We gave up too much, that doesn't change the fact that he considers the wolves big 3 to be 2.5 because of gobert is bad offensively, but Simmons? Nah, he's a complete player.

Well you said it for me, a guy that can't shoot past 10 feet is still miles better than Gobert offensively! LOL

Not to mention, Kyrie and KD are a way better duo than Edwards and Towns. I can't believe you actually consider Gobert close to Simmons offensively.

A point forward who averaged 17 ppg 8 apg on 58% shooting with NO jumpshot! Gobert is good for putbacks, that's about it.

But still the question is, who is the better trio? I'm taking the BKN trio over Minny all day, everyday. Any disagreement?

Simmons average shot length is a gaudy 4.4 ft, he's quite the deep threat. He shoots about 41% in the 3-10ft range and Gobert is acutally worse at 33%.

I was going to say Cream with Eric Clapton, Jack Bruce and Ginger Baker but this isn't a music thread.

So I will change my answer to Bacon, Lettuce and Tomato.

You could take Tatum, Jaylen Brown and (let's say) Robert Williams III and they're probably better than a few of the combinations offered so far... especially if we're factoring in defense...

... that said, Milwaukee is the best 3... and it's not especially close.

Enjoy both games that trio plays together next season. I'm sure both will be just swell. Neither trio belongs on that list.

Draymond was pretty awful other than his defense. Wiggins was a #2. They W's had a nice bench. Can we even call them a big 3 anymore? It's more like a big 2 and some leftover change. They win as a team and they had nice depth.

The goal of the sport is to win the trophy, no? And I didnt come up with this list. Seems to me, that when it matters most, Steph Dray and Klay have once again found a way to rule supreme

Suck it!!

They won because of their depth.

Steph and Klay both had career lows in shooting %'s. GS fans will get their panties in a bunch but these are facts.

I'll see your Cream and counter with Rush, ZZ Top, King's X.... :suds:

The still doesn't answer the question LOL. Just bc that team won it all doesn't mean they have the best trio. Tons of factors: they had more depth, other teams were injuries (ohh like Memphis, Milwaukee, Miami).

...the other team's star set a record for turnovers, that kinda stuff.

I would.

Brooklyn is a hot mess.

But they actually have the talent to contend if their stars are actively engaged come playoff time.

Minnesota doesn’t.
