well got denver there last year A great D can cover up alot of flaws on a team:suds:

True. It has been a winning model for a few teams so maybe I am underestimating the quality of their defense. I just see these games that are ending with them scoring less than 10 points when they play decent defenses and just think some teams in the playoffs will be able to score at least 10 points against even a great defense. Just have to see how this all plays out. I might be eating my words at the end of the year. That is why what we see in October isn't always what we see in January.

Defense is all its about when it comes to championships. Every team gets super conservative in the postseason and relies on not making mistakes. I can't think of one team where the QB carried a bad defense through the postseason and to a title. Of course Pats fans seem to forget how well their defenses perform on their title runs and act as though Brady was the only player on the team.

That is funny, do you have any examples of your outlandish claim or has it become SportsHoopla legend?

I get that. I just worry that this offense isn't even good enough to be average though. I mean they have had 3 games now where they were held to 12 points or less. Those were the 3 best defenses they have played. Those are the type of defenses they will run into during the playoffs and will probably meet some offenses that can score more than 6 points. That is where my concern is at that unless this offense picks it up to even become an average offense they are going to have a tough time winning 3-4 straight playoff games against obviously playoff style teams.

Cmon dude. Forgive the complete generalization. But let's keep it real, plenty of Pats fans gloss over anyone not name Tom Brady's contributions to Pats championships.

I'm sure you could, but many Pats fans probably couldn't name the NFLs all time leaders in postseason sacks and interceptions.

Obviously the Hawks need to get better on offense.

But that's what's great about the NFL, things can and do change very quickly. Very rarely do teams perform exactly like they do in week 7, in week 17. That goes for every team, good or bad.

True which is exactly what I said earlier. When this thread though is about best teams in the NFC and at least for me right now who I consider true Super Bowl contenders I'm not quite willing to put Seattle in either of those categories. A couple of great offensive games though can quickly change a person's mind.

People were throwing dirt on the Hawks at this point in 2014 when they were 3-3, and again last year when they were 2-4. Of course, the issues are different, but the criticism is just as loud. Im fine with admitting that they hardly look like an NFC power, but they're playing better as a team than most give them credit for. And if they can continue that, and tighten a few of the issues, they could easily be looking a decent run.

I get what made it a big win at the time. I just don't see what's still special about it. It didn't determine playoff seeding between the two teams. It did give the Cowboys some momentum that year. But The momentum didn't carry over to a really deep run, and was completely lost at the start of the next year.
Yes to the start of the next year of course, but the deep playoff run was likely interrupted by a catch/no catch call. I'm certainly not going to say Dallas would have been Seattle if they beat GB, but they sure as Hell might have. Also, remember, this was a Dallas team that going into that year had man joking they would never have another winning season after a bunch of 8-8 or losing seasons.

I don't think Dallas is the best NFC team at this time...not at all
I'm excited with the start, but stuff changes in a hurry.
Seattle, GB, Minny, AZ were all considered better teams coming in to the season. Might as well stay the same for now

Agree and talent wise I'm not ready to write Carolina off. I'm shocked at their season.

I just don't think lack of turnovers should be glossed over. Games are won and lost on turnovers more than anything else. The fact that he's not committing them under immense pressure has a big impact on their record. And is not easy as some make it out to be - just ask the local Bradford supporters.
Since people insist on nit picking stats, do fumbles count when talking about taking care of the ball?

Seattle looks like the team to beat in the NFC this year.... If they get home field I don't see any team going up there and knocking them off...

NE had well balanced teams. Teams that could play D. Score points and take care of the ball on STs. I'm not sure I would call scores of 28-24, 24-21 32-29 and 20-17 total defensive dominance?

And im not sure those are the only scores that were involved in those SB runs.

Do you know who the all time leaders in postseason interceptions and sacks are?

Do you take into account how many games they played in? See nit picking stats to make your point is dumb. Ronnie Lott had a bunch of interceptions.

Maybe they played in a lot of games because the defense made a lot of plays.

Yeah the 9ers were the bomb. I already posted their winning scores. Do you want to discuss the two losses to the Giants? Oh wait the Giants were the best D going into those games. Go look it up you may be surprised at how many points NE scored in those seasons. But you won't they are stats that don't support your argument:noidea:You can only lead an animal to water, if they're too dumb to drink nothing else I can do.
RW is a pocket passer 3 people outside Seattle said so it's a fact:pound:

In all seriousness, I'm starting to feel bad for you. You're obviously a miserable "man", desperate for attention. Have fun!
