you know for sure it's not an American company compiling the list.
we have CFL football, no basketball, second tier university athletics (my alumn has a world-class bagpiping team though!), our baseball team recently got demoted from AAA to single A...

its a world poll so the slant is on world championships for multiple sports and mostly amateur sports

Vancouver has hosted a shitload ofsporting events in the past couple of years because of the requirement to hold "test events" of Olympic venues. The area hosted the world police and fire games as well as the world triathalon championships amongst other things like world cup skiing, snowboarding, speed skating etc etc

but dont worry no ones under an illusion that we're the pro sports capital of North America

The poor Orioles. Jeebus. I've lived here all my life, and despite acquiring Red Sox fandom at a young age and the coming of the Nats, the O's will always have a special place in my heart. 99% of the ballgames I've attended in my life have been at Camden.
