If you were a Major League GM, which shortstop would you want most? Everything included. Defense, offense, age, etc.

It's easily Correa, then Andrelton Simmons, Simmons is the best defensive SS, but he's not strong enough a hitter to rate #1.

I would rather hang myself than have to choose between Correa and Lindor. Jeez...

Also, if Tim Anderson can ever adjust his approach and stop swinging at everything, I think he can join this list.

I'm considerably biased and would take the four guys mentioned over Jean Segura, but I think Segura should be in the conversation. He really broke out last year and his batting average before getting hurt (.341) really indicates last year's improvement wasn't a fluke.

Hard to argue with Lindor, but Correa easily has the highest ceiling of all of them, so I'll go with him.

As for @seahawksfan234 I can see where you're coming from a bit, but I think Segura needs another 2-3 years (AT LEAST) given his age (DR stereotype aside :)) at EXTREMELY high production to be part of this conversation at least when talking Lindor/Correa at this point in all of their careers. I think it's a bit unfair to put Segura ahead of either of those guys atm.

And IMO it's just between Correa, Seagar and Lindor for now. Basically everyone else on the list is irrelevant at this point.

Correa/Lindor is such a tough call

But what Ive seen from Correa this past month, he just may be taking it to another level

I also think we havent come close to scratching the surface of how good Seager will be

Boegarts doesnt belong in the poll

I kind of feel Correa will be moved to 3rd down the line ala A-Rod, could just be me though. He's nothing too special defensively there.

I could see it, guess it could come down to whether they have someone push him off of SS.......

Bogaerts lack of slugging (comparatively) hurts him in the comparison....

SLG:
Bogaerts - .417
Correa - .486
Lindor - .465

What about simply swapping him and Bregman? Isn't Bregman supposed to be a better defensive shortstop anyway?

Good point, I really dont know to be honest

I have heard that Machado is looking to return to SS and will pursue that as part of his Free Agency
