He's a better route runner, better after the catch, better range as already discussed, better able to read a defense and adjust, it goes on and on. What does Calvin do better besides get jump balls?

Seriously man, do you watch him play? Im not sure what your definition of "jump balls" is, but actual lobs, where CJ goes higher than the defense, are rare. They shouldnt be, but they are. As already discussed, Staff has very little touch. CJ has had more success on slants and over the middle routes than most would expect. His longest reception of the season (87 yards I believe) was an 8 yard slant pass. Your argument is clearly just a desire to be contrarian. Which seems like a trend.

Everything you just mentioned. That's what he does better.

Funny you mention that smit-tay. It's definitely been mentioned often in other threads.

If I didn't watch I'm play I wouldn't be commenting on him.

Nothing I said implies Calvin can only catch jump balls. It means everything else Fitz does better.

It's just JDM doing his thing. He's usually better at it than this and actually displays some knowledge of the subject matter. But he went off the rails with his comments about CJ not going over the middle, Staff "putting air under the ball" and Fitz being better after the catch. lol Megatron runs over people after the catch. JDM clearly hasn't seen Calvin play much. Anyone who attempts a serious debate with him here has only themselves to blame.

I said none of those things but that Fitzgerald is better after the catch. "Running people over" is rare for either (more common for Calvin obviously) but Fitz is a bigger threat to break out after he catches the ball.

Then why does Calvin average 414 YAC a season and Fitzgerald averages 311 YAC? If he was a bigger threat, he'd have a higher carer average. Your lack of knowledge is really starting to show.

Because Calvin has had better deep ball QBs his entire career and has been on teams built properly to go deep. This is where a big chunk of the after the catch yards is from. Throw in more targets and that's where the rest are from. 20 yards when you were behind the defense and had a QB capable of getting it there is different than an actual catch and run. I'm not saying Calvin can't do it, but Fitz is much better at it.

And that just proves you don't watch the Lions. He is used in so many ways. That deep ball isn't where the big chunk of his yards come from. In fact, us fans have actually been upset with the coaches for not doing it MORE. He is a complete receiver that has worked each and every season to improve his routes. That's why he's so much more dominant now. Again, your argument is weak. Glad I'm not the only one that sees it.

I never said what you are saying I am. A lot of his yards after the catch are deep balls. That's not the same thing.

I'm saying "a lot" of his yards after the catch are NOT deep balls. I just explained how they weren't. You lack reading comprehension. And your "facts" are way off base.

This one isn't his best effort.(I've been waiting for a Fitz/CJ topic. JDM loves him some Fitz). The chinks in CJs armor are there, he just went another route. Wouldn't bet against him putting up a better dissenting stancd tomorrow though. Somebody will want to talk Mike Tice, Im almost positive.

Well that's at least 4 votes if you include one for each voice in his head.

I liked when Titus' high school coach was like "Get real sonny boy!" And Titus still kept thinking he was better than CJ. Then he got arrested for stealing his own car.

I like JDMs stuff most times. He comes strong always. Usually from the minority point of view, but verrrrry strong.
