Are you speaking of Drag racing? If you are JohnRandle, that happened already and yes I was ready. Matt Hagan picked up where he left off last season taking down Ron Capps for the win in FC. I wish Allen Johnson and the Dodge boys would get their Darts going because they are getting owned by the Summit Camaros again. I am going to the Phoneix race next week-end when the NHRA boys come to town.

It was after 1970, for sure...the first time I ever had a flat on my Dart, I wrung off two studs. I had NO IDEA they had left-hand threads. My dad was like, "How could you not know that?" :noidea:

I've driven mopars since '74 and they always stamped an " L " in the end of the left hand threaded studs. While my fav muscle cars were late '60s, I'd have to say any hemi powered mopar would make this thread. When mopar ditched the 383 and replaced it with the low compression, detuned 400ci with a broomstick for a cam, it was thought to be a dog. They made a couple kits you could buy from mopar that really woke them up and you can still find guys running them at your local drag strips so even a 400ci powered mopar in the '70s was a serious muscle car.

67 Firebird.jpg

This was my brother's 67 Firebird when I was in Jr. High School. It had a tweaked 400c.i. hellraiser under the hood and a Muncie 4 speed. That car was a freakin rocket and the dickhead wrecked it before I could buy it from him.

I'm more into mid to late 60's muscle cars, but if I have to stay in the 70's, I'll go with... 1970 Monte Carlo SS

If I can venture of into the 60's, hands down... 1968 Mercury Cyclone Cobra Jet

My older brother bought a Shelby GT500 that looked just like this one. It was former Redskins linebacker Chris Hanberger's. He sold it when his monthly insurance premium was the same as his car payment.

You guys are bringing up some great cars from the past. I wish they could start making cars like this again. I am tearing up watching this thread. Great thread. Please do a 50's and 60's one. Thanks

Muscle car?

Nobody said it had to be made in Detroit. 1977 BMW 2002...pound for pound I loved owning this car. Mine was white with blue interior. I miss er.
