Hey there guys, I'm a guy who used to live to live in Tyler and grew up loving the Rangers/Mavericks/Cowboys, and managed to go to a few Rangers with my mom and my sister way back when(To give you an idea, Palmeiro was on the roster the last time I saw a game live). Mom got remarried, ended up moving to Alabama, and now I'm attending school at Mississippi State, and we've got a QB recruit(Cord Sandberg is his name for those curious) that we really like who I'm told has a rather decent chance of getting drafted high in the MLB. I tried to look up info about the MLB draft and projections and such, but the MLB Draft is rather complicated compared to the NBA or NFL drafts, what with the 40 rounds and the farm system. So, I thought I'd try coming to the site of my home team and asking somebody what the best site was for MLB analysis and how to get a good grasp on it. Other than asking for the best site for draft analysis/projections, could someone people tell me how much guaranteed money and time in the farm system is expected for draft rounds? How does getting drafted in the 10th compare to 15th, 20th, 25th etc. Thanks ahead of time for any help y'all can give.

only the really high picks/super talented guys will get "big" money (1/2 mil)

other than that the late round guys get very little money......think a standard 40 hour work week at maybe 10 dollars per hour.....their reward is a shot to play a game for a living

So 41st would be roughly mid 2nd round, which I'm guessing is a lot closer to "big money" as bone put it. How reliable is Keith Law when it comes to the draft info?

Thanks. That link was especially helpful. Looks like he'll be 2nd but might slip if teams don't like how raw/dedicated to football he is.

Have thought about this for about 5 min so good chance I may have this wrong ... but I'm betting lot more high school guys elect to go the college or junior college route to raise their draft interest if the money isn't as big for later rounds. Only the great ones will sign out of HS if not ... lots of teams may not get their draftees to sign.
