When I was 6 years old, 'The Incredible Shrinking Man' freaked me out.

Saw 'The Exorcist' when I was in college. Slept with the lights on for two nights.

'The Texas Chainsaw Massacre' wasn't actually a horror film. It's a documentary on how we cater to trespassers down here.

It's loosely based on the real life monster, Ed Gein. The dude was a freaking, straight-up psycho. Which the movie Psycho is also based off of him.

May I ask what year this would've been?

When Jaws came out, it literally made the entire nation, stop going to the beach. It was a nationwide phenomenon, and I would venture to say, one of the more influential films ever made.

The movie is about as old as me and maybe I had seen better special effects in movies by that time but nothing about that shark looked real. It is a good movie, entertaining, but not a great movie to me and it might have been if I could have ever bought the shark.

How about An American Werewolf in London? I don't think I've seen that mentioned. It's one of my favorites too.

The original "Dawn of the dead" 1978.

For some reason you see all of the "dead" movies on TV all the time ..even the original Night of the living dead.

But you never see the 1978 Dawn. The best of all of them by far.

What the hell were they thinking in Halloween 3? I watched it and caught my first nude scene so there's that.

I am a huge fan of horror movies but there really hasn't been anything good that has come out lately, I was wondering what would you say is the best horror movie you ever seen.

I am a huge fan of the original Evil Dead movie also the original Exorcist was a great one. I am more fond of movies like those as opposed to slasher movies.
-------
The very first Alien movie. You never say the boogie man until the very end of the movie yet therre were some very intense frightening momoents despite that.

I was like 8 when Jaws came out and I remember everyone I knew was talking about it, like beardown said it changed the way people acted when they went to the beach...
-------
I was adult when Jaws came out but it wasn't the shark that scared the shit out of me but the anticipation. Even at the first of the movie with the girl swimming and that background music you KNEW something ominous was going to happen. Even now, watching the movie and hearing that music, you know when that music starts at some point "bad" is going to happen. And you can NEVER pinpoint exactly when. Spielberg was good at manipulating with the "Pavlovs dog syndrome".

Was that the one in the mall? Wasn't bad, I also liked the remake they did around 1990 or so with Tony Todd.

Don't know if you would consider this "horror" but the original When a Stranger Calls.

As far as movies, Halloween and The Excorsicst are top scary movies.

But one episode on the X-Files terrified me as a kid. It was the episode were this guy (human or not) was crawling through the furnaces and the chimney killing people. I wouldn't get close to the furnaces for months.

I liked the Shining as well. Pet Semetary and Misery were also good flicks. You ever see "Storm Of the Century?"

Yep, The Shining not as much, but still a good one. And Misery was pretty scary in the fact of the situation and plot (nowhere to go)---good flicks!
