to this day, the only horror movie i've seen that gave me nightmares and made me feel uneasy for any amount of time is The Exorcist.

i still think the most visceral thriller/horror i've ever seen is the original Halloween.

The scariest scene that gave me nightmares when I was a kid was the scene in The Shining when the kid turns the corner on his bike and sees the two girls

The first Halloween. That damn music I can still hear it all these years later.

Not sure if I've already posted in here but I'll say The Strangers scared the heck out of me.

Funny I wasn't scared by Halloween at all and honestly didn't think the movie was any good. I was much more of a fan of the Friday the 13th movies, especially the first two.

There was one we watched a couple weeks ago I don't remember what it was called, subzero or something like that it had Jeff Fahey and I don't even remember now but for some reason earth was freezing. Probably in the top 5 worst movies ever made...

I love Netflix because there is so much to choose from but for every good one I find, I find 50 bad ones...

The TV show "Hoarders" is enough to scare anyone.

For those that think Horror is dead, that was a very good, RECENT, horror-flick.

Horror is kind of dead at the moment. It sucks because horror is arguably my favorite genre but I am so sick and tired of the supernatural horror movies now. Every damn horror movie that comes out is about a spirit, a ghost, a haunting, a haunted house, super natural stuff. It's fucking old. With that being said I did like 'The Conjuring' but shit enough is enough. I want them to get back to the old school type horror movies. And yes The Strangers was good. I'm trying to think of the most recent horror movie I have seen that I actually liked a lot. I just looked at my IMDB ratings....'Wolf Creek 2' surprisingly was pretty good. I gave it a 7/10 and I think it came out in 2012?? So yea that is the most recent horror movie that was any good for me.

Going to watch The ABC's of Death 2 later. Hearing good things.

Not sure if I'd call it the "best" horror movie I've seen, but the most legitimately scary horror I remember most recently would have to be Dead Silence.

It's really the only horror flick that would continue freak me the fuck out regardless of how many times I see it.

Saw it. Pretty good movie. This is an old thread but Funhouse was pretty freaky.

Some of my favorite horror movies (some of them are more obscure than others):

- Inside (2007 - France)
- Session 9 (Great movie!)
- [REC]
- Christine
- Paranormal Activity 3, 2, 1
- The Thing (Kurt Russell)
- Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1978)
