think Berenger in platoon has to be a nominee for best character. he sold that role brilliantly.

I liked Dafoes character too, but think a lot of stars could have filled that role equally as well. but once you watch platoon. As well as Berenger played the role. I cant think off anyone playing it now. To me that is a best character played by an actor.

No.

I was raised Episcopalian but am an agnostic these days.

I've had jewish friends in the past, for the not much it's worth.

Ask your Jewish friends about goy. Ask them what that means and tell me it doesn't bother you.

I have been aware of what "goyim" means for decades and know that jews can be as biased as members of any other ethnic groups. None of my jewish friends ever held my goyim status against me to the best of my knowledge.

Well, I'll submit this...

Doc Holliday

I think Quaid was a much better Holliday than Kilmer.

Whaaaaa???? DENNIS Quaid has the anti-Midas touch, IMO. While Kilmer kills it. I've got two guns....one for each of you. I'll be your Hucklebearer. I don't even remember any of Quaids lines.

The Israeli actor Topol as Tevye in "Fiddler On The Roof."

That's a great all-around movie, with a very accurate description of what life was like for Russian jews before the Russian Revolution among other things.

if we're talking movie musical roles, that's a great one

another great one is William Daniels as John Adams in 1776.

Gale Sayers in Brian's Song. The actor(who's name eludes me) absolutely nailed the role.

Audrey Hepburn as Holly Golightly in "Breakfast At Tiffany's" was good.

She and Cary Grant were both good in "Charade."

Gregory Peck as Captain Ahab in "Moby Dick."

I like movie musicals generally.

NO WAY will I ever sell my DVD of Julie Andrews' "Sound Of Music!" The whole cast was great in that.

Good call. That's a very disturbing movie, but Malcom McDowell was great in it.

A more obscure movie of his is Gangster No. 1, in which MM plays another diabolic villain in the title role. Also a great job by David Thewlis as Freddy Mays in that pic.
