The Cowboys have added a needed pass-rusher.

According to a tweet from his agents, Raiders restricted free agent defensive end Benson Mayowa is officially a Cowboy, meaning the Raiders did not match the offer sheet he signed last week.

Since the Raiders gave him the low RFA tender and he entered the league as an undrafted free agent, they get no compensation.

Mayowa is an intriguing prospect, but he has two sacks in three seasons in the league, the first of which was spent with the Seahawks. But Dallas has a severe need at the position, with Greg Hardy a free agent and Randy Gregory suspended.

Really surprised by how good the Cowboys have been in free agency this year. Really don't have a problem with any of the moves and most of them have been bargains.

I believe the Cowboys have the finest scouting department in the league right now, and Jerry has finally learned to listen to them .I couldn't have told you who David Irving was last year, but I'm very excited to have him now. Hoping the Cowboys strike gold here too

No huge loss.....he's okay but our DL has been upgraded the last 2 seasons and we didn't really have a need to bring him back if he wanted more than what we wanted to give him.

McClain had a pretty good 2nd season with the Raiders but ultimately decided to retire.....McFadden had some pretty solid seasons with us but was injury prone and inconsistent at the same time. They both had productive seasons with the Raiders.

I know their histroy very well going back to day one in the league. You had two guys that were bad draft picks for you (in McClain's case, horrible) and we had two relatively cheap FAs that were great signings for us, not good, great...

I like both of the moves. Thornton is a serious upgrade over hayden. mayoowa paired with Gregory gives us two fast edge rushers. now to add a big DE like bosa or buckner
