If you catch the ball and have possession, the ball can touch the ground if it doesn't move/help the catch.

In this instance, though, if the ball and the catch happen simultaneously, I don't think you can say the guy had possession - so even if it didn't help him catch the ball, I think it should have been incomplete.

I think it was so close that whatever was called on the field would have to stand.

I do get that, but I'm more about the fact that there was no way he had possession long enough to show he had full control of the ball before it touched the ground. He may have, but I think in any instance like this where it's bang/bang - how can you definitively say there was possession. I don't think you can, and that's why I think it should have been incomplete.....but, is what it is.

Burrow right now has shot himself in the foot a ton holding onto the ball, and the offense has not adjusted to allow for more short routes to get the ball out much sooner.

One of my gambling OCD quirks is constantly monitoring NFL weather and both Arrowhead and Orchard Park are supposed to be fine next Sunday. Low winds, low chance of precipitation, cold but seasonable temperatures.

I think they're a TD underdog against either team but Burrow and these recievers give you a puncher's chance against anyone in the NFL.
