Hobson and Bengals.com. Dunlap will get 20 million in his first 2 years of the contract.

Bye bye MJ.

Also, Eifert is signed, sealed and delivered also.

I also saw a rumor over the bengals.com site message board that the bengals were about to announce the signing of a new player to the team, mystery player no one is sure who it is. I am not buying into that non-sense until I see it, but they tend to think it may be a veteran safety like Rhodes.

Good signing to get him at an average of under 7 mil a year. Also ideal to front load the contract while they have plenty of cap space. That being said I can already see him holding out around year 4 when he's only making about 4-5 mil demanding a new contract....much like what MJD did to the jaguars.

Yeah, plus Geathers is nearing the end of his contract that he signed 6 years for 36 million when he signed, so basically, just going to replace his contract. They still have enough room for Atkins, and Green, and maybe even Dalton if he does something better this year.

Good signing for the price. If he can stay healthy one of the best signings I can remember.

His is more front loaded also so we can take advantage of that large salary cap space we still have available, and sets up a chance to structure Atkins and Green with escalating contracts like most superstars require now a days. Big bonus up front and escalating salary as the years go by.

So this helps in many areas.

So even if we lose Johnson, good possibility now, we still will have the Giant from Estonia and Gilberry to help offset that loss. Besides, as long as we have Atkins in the middle causing damage, any of our DE's will have a great chance for success.

Geathers contract expired after this last season....Bengals resigned him this offseason for 3yr/12mil or something like that

I did not realize that. Thanks for the update on that.

Means MJ is even more on his way out more than likely.

In a football sense I love the move.. this guarantees they'll have one of the best Defensive Lines in the league for the next six yrs as soon as Atkins gets a long term deal (which given our caproom seems inevitable)..

hopefully Dunlap doesn't have any off the field issues now they he got his pay day. that's my only worry

love it, a 'mystery player'

any other team just talks to a player and signs him or they don't, but the Bengals have sheep they can tease with 'mystery players' ... just amazing.

Dunlap only tries part-time when he makes less than a million per year. Imagine what he'll do now....

Now we just need to get Atkins in on a monster deal so we can gear up for AJ's haul next year. Building a team around a great D-line and a few playmakers on offense is a good strategy -- We just have to pray that Dalton finds some new skills.

Assuming he can stay healthy it's a great deal. He is more talented than MJ93 and looking towards 2014 Hunt is better suited for the right side with his freakish athleticism.
