Away game vs. Rams..... Probably a good thing. Traveling to the West Coast is always tough and this pretty much kills that advantage for the Rams (just ignore the fact that they are a Super Bowl team and we have along way to go).

Lots of miles to be logged for the 2019 Bengals. Away games in Seattle and Oakland. Interested to see if the league puts them back-to-back and allows the Bengals to stay out there.

Marvin was just a longer running scapegoat for the folks who think 89.5% of the salary cap is the real salary cap, that we don't need to have above average guards or defensive backs, and think that Andy Dalton is a top 5 QB.

Ain't no one thinking Dalton is top 5. Average guards are okay if they are actually average, but then you need a hell of a center and really good tackles to offset average.

Not seeing a lot of rabid Andy Dalton fans on these Bengals threads.

Joe Flacco and Nick Foles may be available as QB.

Will the Bengals do something bold?

It won't be for either one of those guys. I think Dalton is our starting QB at the very least next year, even if we draft a replacement. Who knows. Maybe Dalton can be a better Dalton with the right scheme and support.

lol, I've been blasted on here multiple times for saying Andy Dalton is not a top 5 or top 10 QB.

I'm not the only person who knows this. It took me about 5 seconds of google to find an article that agrees with me. -> Quarterback rankings: Top 32 signal-callers across NFL

The ONLY people who think Dalton is top 10 are Bengals homers.

They need to draft or sign a capable backup, Dalton isn't that great, and a decent backup is needed because he keeps getting injured anyhow. I'm so sick of the bullshit that we can't challenge Dalton's ego by having a capable backup, and then the mofo gets injured. F him and the horse he rode in on.

All things considered, I don't know if switching him out for Flacco or Foles would really improve things, that seems to be a parallel move, rather than upwards. If Dalton gets hurt during training camp, then yes.

Not this type of bold lol. Maybe if Mikey wakes up from his coma.

Kyler Murray or Carson Wentz. That type of bold.

it's been awhile, but I've had that argument here multiple times.
I'd guess you'd have to go back awhile. I could see an argument for top 15 - but I think the thing that hinders him is that he needs things to be really good around him and then he excels. To be in that top 8-10 you have to excel even when things have broken down around you, and that has rarely ever been the case with Dalton.

Bengals certainly could look at taking a QB, but I just don't see it happening. Way too many other holes that need fixing right now, specifically starting with the defense and OL.

I would argue that there are lots of NFL Quarterbacks that would excel when surrounded by exceptional talent. Our backups go to New England (and maybe other places) and become steady contributors. Some of that, I realize is due to our past coaching.

That ranking was absolutely ridiculous. The following qbs are not better than Dalton - Mariota (by what measure), Winston (please), Prescott (Look at the stats - no), Cousins (overpaid - not better), Smith (probably the same guy), Carr (please...he's losing his job), Goff (Not yet).

Dalton is not top 10 - But he's barely outside of it. You won't find 15 qbs that are better than him. I'd like to replace him, but he's not nearly as bad as our fans think.

Public opinion on Dalton seems to be divided into to two groups. The Stockholm homers who think he’s “elite”. Or the steadfast haters who wouldn’t trust him running a high school offense. There is no middle ground.

Andy Dalton is what he is. Average. He’s good when the supporting cast is good. He struggles when it sucks. You can do better. But you can also do much, much worse.
