with 55 MILLION DOLLARS! Mike Better NOT keep his got damn money in his wallet!

Don't all NFL teams have to spend 95% of the cap???? So spend away!

Sign Atkins, Andre Smith, Mike Johnson, Dunlap, Adam Jones, T Newman for 1 year, Crocker for 1 year, Gilberry (2-3 years), Pat Sims (2 years), Trevor Robinson (2 years) and Burfict (2 years)

Go after a RB and Jennings(WR) in FA...Sign a better back up to Andy Dalton to push his ass.....

NO GOT DAMN EXCUSES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

and I dont want to hear well we have draft picks and we have to save money for injuries etc...BULLSHISH! Draft picks are bargains now....Its set up to reward the guys who have performed...SO GET TO WORK!

If Mike makes the wrong moves he will have 3 less sell outs in 2013 we had 6 in 2012 we will have 3 in 2013 or less if he screws this up!

To be fair, her deep ball accuracy is only a shade below Dalton's.

I think more resources will be used to resign our current people than over-paying for free agents.

We need to sign at least 1 big time FA, if not 2.

I don't think you can resign players on their rookie contract until after their 3rd year anymore.

This is correct. If this weren't a rule, every agent of a top talent (like AJ) would threaten a hold-out after the first season.

Well, I can tell you right now, Mike Brown, if smart, would spend to like 90% cap, pay the cap penalty and then next year extend Green for 10 years to over 100 million. If he spends to cap this year, he will not be able to afford Green next year with 1% cap space available.

Sure he will.... He could give huge bonuses in an extension to Atkins, a contract for MJ or a contract for Tits. He could roll all of that money into next year's cap. He could also sign some free agents to lucrative one year deals.... We've had plenty of guys on 1 year deals the last few years and it seems to work well for the vets. Regardless of how he does it, there are plenty of ways to move money in and out of years.

Exactly right. There are several ways to work around the max (e.g. how signing bonuses are distributed) for teams that want to absolutely maximize what they spend. But you can guarantee the Bengals won't be one of those teams.

Brown has hired a dozen financial experts to figure out the best way to spend as close to the cap with the least amount of money. They're probably working on it as we speak.

The Bengals might find themselves in a pickle where they are offering contracts that nobody wants in order to spend to the minimum cap. They'd be depending on players actually wanting to play here when they can get free Gatorade somewhere else.

I can't wait for the Hopspin article on how that number is "misleading" and that they have to "leave a pad" for the rookie pool, injuries, incentives, etc.

Can't forget the rookie free agents as well. That will basically drain the funds.
