Lie.

We ran ourselves out of games and were forced to pass when down multiple scores early.

The RUNNING game failed us is 2010.

Edit: Both seasons we ranked 22nd on offense. Both seasons we averaged around 17 ppg.

the truth was somewhere in between.

The run wasn't that effective, and we gave up on it too quick, but didn't have much of a choice, with all the star targets we had, it was way too tempting to give up on a lackluster running game.

Well, the Oline failed us more than anything in 10, but it was pretty obvious we were a pass first team in 2010. I was arguing for that, but I was wrong. We were not a pass first team, we needed more balance.

We played behind in this game most of the time, yet Dalton still played really well and mistake football. If that was Palmer we would have had at least 1 pick 6 later in the game as he tried too hard to force balls.

No, we were not.

When you get down, you have to pass. It had nothing to do with temptations.

Benson was 4th or 5th in the entire league in carries in 2010....

He was 40 something in YPC.

The running game killed the 2010 team.

The 2010 team was built to be a no-huddle, pass happy team. Marvin and Brat cannot handle that, though.

We were not out of every game at halftime. We could have run the ball more, but the offensive line could not get guys blocked well enough. Created a lot of 3 and outs, but Palmer was inaccurate when throwing a lot of the time. He made big mistakes in critical situations.

Dalton played extremely well for a rookie, but it wasnt as good as his stats suggest...

they were 0-9 on 3rd downs before the last drive of the game. he missed a wide open Simpson on a should have been game-winner, and then took a sack at the worst possible time...

still a rookie so he'll learn

I know they blamed Dalton, but the ball was just slightly behind Simpson. Simpson only seems to make the catch if it is right in his hands on stride. If he has to adjust for any ball, he drops it. That drop was on Simpson, it should have been caught. There is no way in hell Gresham, Green or Shipley drop that pass.

What does that have to do with being a run or pass first team.

You suggest that because we were down in every game so much, we were forced to throw that much more. Teams down by 1-10 points do not start throwing heavy until the 4th quarter and the larger the deficit the sooner in the 4th.

That was not the case forcing us to throw constantly. We just threw a lot to try and spread passes around to Chad and TO before the circus got out of hand.

Flaming has a Palmer related amnesia. On the other hand, our offensive coordinator was so retarded it wasn't clear to people what the heck we were, other than we were a team without an identity, waffling about on offense aimlessly, but alas, predictable as hell.

I remember everything perfectly well.

Since his trade demand, Palmer has just become the new scapegoat for everything that is and has been wrong with the Bengals. Before him, it used to be Mike Brown.

Butt hurt much? I know Crash is.

My ass is fine. But if it makes you feel better, keep believing that shit man. Keep believing.

We were a pass first type of team last year. Palmer did okay at times. Palmer scored 7 points against Denver at home and it took 59+ minutes to do it. Oline failed us in 2010. Chad and TO sucked the heart out of this team. Mike Brown still is the scape goat. We won't have a winning record in 2011. Somethings are just facts.

Palmer may not be a fair scapegoat for the whole team being run into the ground, but he deserves his fair share of blame for 2010. If you can't see that, then your a blind bat.

yea, this is obviously one of Simpson's limitations, great athlete, but many wr's would have made that catch.

If you think Palmer wouldn't have lit up this Denver team, you're on crack.

p.s. you made a comment about how Palmer would have thrown an interception on the final drive. I mentioned his final drive against this same team a couple years back went for 7 points. How many total points were scored prior to the "final drive" is irrelevant. Pick a single train of thought and stick to it, don't switch it up when the initial claim doesn't work.

Get off Palmers dick. He sucked last year, no way to argue it.

Not to mention if he hits a WIDE open Green in stride, it's a TD. Instead Green has to lay out for an overthrown ball. Dalton played good today, much better than i expected. But he still misses way too many open guys (excluding Simpson, who must have 2 left hands or something...fuckin terrible drops)
