The rookie season stats are accurate; the latter stats appear to be a projection for the upcoming season.

But the point stands. Simmons has not improved at all in the years he has been in the league.

Last year he averaged 14.6 points and 6.9 assists on 56% shooting from the field and 61% FT percentage. The FT percentage was slightly up from his 56% as a rookie, but as we all know, when the pressure is on, it drops a lot. His assist numbers went down.

The main point here is he is taking more 3 pt FG's dramatically and he tripled those attempts!!!

0.1 to 0.3. Amazing talent, I can't to see him expand his shot selection from 8 feet to 9 feet when he gets back on the court!!

He attempted like 3 3s all of last season, and I don't think a single one was in an actual competitive situation. They were in lopsided games or prayers he threw up before halftime, etc.

Ben is a very good defender, and I think in fairness he has probably improved that element of his game over time. But he has done nothing to improve his offensive deficiencies whatsoever. He is a guy who thinks he is already a superstar, when in fact he is a second tier all-star until he develops at least a consistent FT shooting game and improves his offense in the half court. He doesn't even have to shoot 3s ever, but he at least needs to become a 70% FT shooter and a more aggressive attack player to the rim. Until he does those things he is basically unplayable in the fourth quarter of close games.

I think the expectations are just out of whack for Simmons. Sure, the FT% is troubling (and the resulting passive play), but overall teams would be better suited to use him more to his strengths. No point having him handle the ball outside the arc; play him in a pseudo-Dray role. Simmons shot 30% from 3 last year (in very limited attempts obviously), while Dray shot 27% in probably too many attempts lol.

Anybody hear the story of Ben’s deal game 7? So the Sixers have a masseuse (no, not that masseuse DeShawn Watson; sit the fuck down!) that says she was exposed to Covid. She informs the team. They expect that some players may have to be out because of this. Simmons steps up and says I can’t play because I was exposed to the masseuse. Masseuse steps up and says Nah. I didn’t work with Ben. That pussy was looking for a way out of playing Game 7. Fuck this guy. Can’t wait until he’s someone else’s problem. Dude loves the life but DGAF about winning.
