So far he has only lost a little money. They put an $8 million chunk of his salary in an escrow account, and are apparently deducting the fines every day he doesn't show up. When he starts missing regular season games, it will be a big bite, and eventually it would be all of it. But if he showed up, it would not.

Yeah. The nightmare scenario for the Sixers is a 3-7 start.

Agreed. I don't see this happening because they are still a pretty talented team, but if they start out losing a lot of games, that would possibly force their hand. So long as they are a playoff team though--no pressure IMO, even if they are a low seed.

It seems like just yesterday I was saying, Embiid, Simmons, monster cap room and now the number one overall pick!!! And now look at me…

Embiid and Simmons weren't an ideal fit. But, imo, a big part of the problem was in the offense. Embiid isn't a great 3 point shooter, but he's good enough that they could run some sets with him moving to the 3 point line so Simmons could drive and finish or dish. They could also have been a pretty devastating pick and roll/pick and pop duo.

Magic and Kareem figured it out and Kareem was rarely more that 5-8 feet from the basket.

Yeah... I think we can all agree that (in the real world) no deal is going down between the Sixers and the Celtics... there's simply no even ground to be found between the two.

It’s basically a joke but I don’t blame you. Fans always want a piece in a trade and they never want to give up fair value. They also often over value their young pieces.
