If he can't play today, would it even make sense to retroactive 15 day DL him?

Starting to get a little nerve-wracking on this. Looks like he's doubtful to play today.

He won't play tonight; a buddy sent me a text saying he's headed to the DL, which he supposedly heard from a Giants FO person. I haven't found confirmation on this on the web yet.

Baggs hinted strongly that it's looking more than likely. Giants are snakebit.

Ah feck. I had a feeling that might happen after listening to KNBR the last couple of days. Larry Baer did his best yesterday to dispell the thought, but it looks like it's inevitable.

Dude, of all the people that had to go on the DL, it had to be Posey and Franchez and now Hunter Beltran. :(

He'd be eligible to come off the DL for the next home game. He'd miss exactly the entire road trip. This is gonna be a rough week and a half.

He has a slight history of being frail, so this was a distinct possibility when he was acquired.

This was the main reason why Wheeler (on the surface) was a high price to pay for him.

This. Only so many major injuries a team is expected to overcome to make the playoffs. I've been mentally and emotionally preparing for that increasing possibility, that we just aren't healthy enough to get there.

Not pantshatting, just being real.

My only question is what did we do to piss off the Baseball Gods?

They're pissed because we did not draft enough hitters.

We beat the CLEARLY best team in baseball, and everybody's favorite team, the Philadelphia Phillies.

How dare us?

Not to mention, participated in a World Series that consisted of neither the New York Yankees nor the Boston Red Sox. Blasphemy!

Right?

Panik and Sussac in the first and second was a nice change of pace, but we took a RP in the 3,4, and 5th rounds. And it seems like we do this every year =/

It's the same Runzler esque pitcher too. Big arm and a dominate pitch, but control issues...

We have to wait until the mid-20s to draft pitchers from now on...

Wilson, Romo...

....did anybody else read this title and yell "fuck I miss Wheeler!"?

Honestly, I don't miss Wheeler, but I reserve the right to rant at Sabean for being an idiot GM if Wheeler turns into a big deal. :heh:
