He deserves it the way he played with STL... But knowing him, he will probably get hurt and miss the majority of those 3 years...

Going back to the Royals would be nice for them and that lineup.

He had a very good season. I am skeptical that he has three more of those left, though.

It might mean Butler is traded though, Beltran projected to be a negative 20 run downgrade in RF currently last I saw. Granted, Lough's numbers are highly suspect and could inflate that negative number a bit, but there is no doubt Beltran would have problems in KC out in RF.

The Mariners are the only other team I could think of in the AL/Small market that would give Beltran 3 years.

I would love the Royals to bring in a top tier free agent. That said, I just don't think Beltran is that guy anymore.

Would probably be ok as a DH, which would mean Butler is traded. Would be interesting to see what happens if, in fact, this is the Royals.

16 mil...the royals? for 3 years? just can't see it...the Tigers with Hunter moving to LF, see it, but not the Royals....I just want to put money on how many games Hunter and Beltran will miss since that would be basically a Yankee built team then.

If the Royals were smart, by signing Beltran, they could trade Billy Butler for a starting pitcher to fill that hole in the rotation

would be ok with Butler for B Anderson, etc...but Beltran would increase the payroll 8 mil...just don't see it happening.

Mets could use a bat and have a plethora of young arms to deal. Butler to the Mets for any combination of Duda/Davis/Daniel Murphy + a young arm or 2?

Beltran has been confirmed to be in KC...

According to the Twitter account of a supposed Royals employee, the Kauffman scoreboard currently reads "Welcome Back Carlos!". I'm guessing they're not talking Febles. ...more

Carlos is in Town! Carlos is in Town! - Royals Review

"Not talking to Febles", might be the funniest line for Royals fans...

Maybe he is giving the Royals the last chance to give him a 4 year deal at $13 mil a year....no on the 16m a year deal....please no.

Royals division rivals are now saying they think Beltran will end up back in K.C.

Seems like a good fit. Not sure he is going to play at a high level for more than 1 year but Royals could certainly make a push this year

I anticipate that Butler will be traded for someone either this year or next offseason.
