The SEC is meeting on Sunday to talk about a formal offer to A&M. Board of regents in Texas move meeting to monday to decide what they want to do. The reason they moved it to Monday is because the state legislature was going to meet on Tuesday to decide what they wanted A&M to do. If the SEC sends the offer and A&M accepts before Tuesday then it won't matter what the legislature has to say.

Texas AD DeLoss Dodds says the UT staff "is working on 20 names" for possible replacements for Texas A&M.

I imagine the Big T will be deserving of any team hard up enough to join up with that cluster fuck.

It kind of reminds me of a certain university that fired a 10 win coach a few years back and then went courting all these named coaches. They even thought they would fly their plane down to Arkysaw and just bring this guy down there home with them. Well these coaches all said thanks but no thanks so they went after a guy who had just got fired from another coaching job and had made idiotic statements like that team is a bunch of idiots even though they had just gone to a super bowl the year before.

Well yeah this guy was egotistical enough to take the position and think he could make it his legacy and guess how that ended up.

If OU leaves UT behind, then UT's only true conference test would be the best of KState, Mizzou, Tech, and OkSt (provided OkSt doesn't follow OU). Without OU, Texas winning the Big12 would be like getting the gold medal in the Special Olympics...

Nicely said. Texas will be fine in the short term...but in the long term nobody is going to care if they win the Texas 12 conference (or whatever name they come up) and the recruits won't care either when they add North Texas, Houston, Rice, SMU, and Sam Houston.
