I agree on Meredith. I noticed that today and Whaley looked lost seveeral times plus many missed tackles thus the C for D. Offense A

If anyone remembers Bo's defensive philosophy in practice from 2004. You don't stop until everyone has touched the ball or the ball carrier.

Meredith does a lot of plodding around and will actually slow to a walk if the ball isn't within 5 yds of him or there are other players w/in the vacinity of the ball.

ATTRITION is a good thing for 2013.

Southern Miss shot themselves in the foot on numerous occasions. Dropped passes, mis-fires, etc..

My main question...was this Bo's "bend but don't break" philosophy defense?

It's possible/probable. I tell ya what Southern miss did a great job of throwing right into Nebraska's blitzes and made them pay on multiple occasions.

That's upsetting to hear about Meredith. I was more paying attention to the secondary most of the game. Wanted to see what a TJ coached unit looked like.

Hopefully the old cliche of "your biggest leap is from week one to week two" has some truth to it.

A strong showing in pasadena would do a lot of good for this D's confidence.

A large part of the reason I consider this a great win has nothing to do with who we played.

Not one single false start. Not one delay of game. The stupid penalties were non-existent.

Not one fumble, not one interception. How many games would we of won with our anemic offense last year if we didn't have drives stalled by stupid mistakes. I know it was only one game but there were zero stupid mistakes. We were able to complete drives.

Then add in our line looked good, our receivers were catching passes and passes were on target, that's icing on the cake. Only one game but it's hard not to be excited.

Aaron Green is gonna feel pretty stupid if this team makes serious noise this season. Burkhead out, he would have had a great shot at PT.

Martinez has had big passing days before.

Yea, I knew about Geno's performance.......even while making that post I had thought about it.....

I just believe that Southern Miss is much better Defensively than Marshall. That might be all opinion, but I feel strongly on that opinion.

Geno is seriously sickening though. In my opinion he is the most dynamic QB in the country.
