What's Norman supposed to do when OB is basically trying to end his season? OB better learn what comes around goes around. Yesterday it was Norman's jaw, next time it might be OB's kneeNo, I saw what I saw . I've said it over and over OB was by far the worst one, but he had help. I do not condone what he did, but if you watch the play are you 100 percent sure he meant to hit him with the helmet in the head. I'm not. Watch his arms

I've seen guys get their jaw broken without hitting a knee, and I've seen guys get their jaw broken on shots like that. If it had been a clean hit, no one would say anything. It was INTENTIONAL. If that were Suh hitting Romo in game one next year and ending his season, you'd shit yourself trying to get him suspendedEnd his season? Come on. If that was the case he would have went for the knees on the same play
Are you serious Dude? Come on...What's the difference?
Tom Coughlin almost benched Odell Beckham Jr., but here's why he didn't

During the second half of the Panthers' 38-35 win over the New York Giants on Sunday, things got pretty heated between Odell Beckham Jr. and Panthers cornerback Josh Norman.
Week 15 NFL Picks
Beckham was flagged three times in the game for unnecessary roughness with two of those penalties coming in the third quarter. It wasn't just Beckham though. Norman also got flagged once for unnecessary roughness.
Penalties are one thing, but trying to take out a guy is another thing and that's what Beckham appeared to do in the third quarter when he hit Norman with a direct helmet-to-helmet shot, which you can see below.

Beckham is facing a possible suspension for the hit and probably should've been ejected from the game, but he wasn't.
Although Beckham didn't get ejected, someone could have pulled him out of the game and that someone is Giants coach Tom Coughlin.
Beckham was clearly out of control, so why didn't Coughlin yank him?
Coughlin explained his thought process after the loss.
Q: Was there any consideration or any reason, including his own safety, to take [Beckham] out?
TOM COUGHLIN: It was a consideration. In fact, it was a strong consideration. But it didn't happen.
Q: Why not?
TC: Because I didn't take him out.
Q: What was your reasoning for it?
TC: Because I wanted him to play the game. He had to learn. He's got to learn at some point how to deal with some things on the field.
Q: You're willing to deal with the penalties?
TC: No, I'm not willing to deal with the penalties. I'm not willing to deal with anything. I want him out there to win the football game. Again, he's a player on our team and he made some mistakes today, but I'm hoping he will recognize that and get over it.
Q: This late in the season with the playoffs on the line, how crushing is it to lose?
TC: It's always a crush to lose. It's difficult to lose in those circumstances right there. But we'll find a way to keep fighting, that's what we'll do.
On one hand, you have Coughlin the teacher, who wants Beckham to learn his lesson, but then you have Coughlin the NFL coach, who kept Beckham out there because Coughlin wanted to "win the football game."
Coughlin and the Giants are in the middle of a heated division race, so it's no shock that Coughlin refused to pull his best offensive player during a huge game.
Beckham's antics could end up costing the Giants, though, if he's suspended for either of New York's final two games (at Minnesota, vs. Philadelphia).
Part of winning the battle is catching the balls. Dropped or not, he had a below average(to his standards) game.
He should and will be fined. Doubt he gets suspended.
To defend his actions saying it happens every week in pro football is just stupid. In which other games do you see players run full speed at a targeted player and head hunt, after the play?
How do you know it won't happen again or it was a spur of the moment thing? How do you justify any of your comments ROMO? Oh, because he is talented...
A Big Piece missing here is that Coughlin is most likely to lose his job without a postseason this year
No one here was surprised that Tom didnt take him out of the game
I posted yesterday that I was surprised not to see Tom talking to him on the sidelines. The WR coach did but I never saw TC address him. I wasn't the least bit surprised, he dint take him out of the game, with the Giants trying to make the playoffs and Coughlin trying to get a W
Are you serious Dude? Come on...
LOL whats the difference? OBJ trying to make a catch and a safety lowering his shoulder compared to OBJ targeting a player who wasnt in the play, headhunting.
Now this is fucked up like a football bat!
Did Josh Norman threaten Odell Beckham with a baseball bat?

The ugly second half battle between Odell Beckham Jr. and Panthers cornerback Josh Norman might have actually started because of something that happened before the game.
CBS Sports NFL Insider Jason La Canfora has reported that the Giants believe Beckham was physically threatened by the Panthers before the two team's kicked off on Sunday, with a baseball bat pointed in his direction. The Giants also believe that a group of Panthers players used homophobic slurs against Beckham.
The Panthers are denying that either thing happened.
Week 15 NFL Picks
"Absolutely nothing happened on the sideline. I was there. No one was threatened," Panthers spokesman Steven Drummond said in a statement, adding that Norman was stretching most of the time and was not involved with any incidents regarding the bat and that only a practice squad player exchanged words with Beckham and it was not derogatory. "No one was threatened with a bat. It didn't happen. It's a diversionary tactic and a good one at that."
According to the Giants, the pregame incident is what caused Beckham's unusual emotional state during the game. La Canfora reports the Giants are not saying that necessarily Norman in particular was making any particular statement but that he was among a group of Panthers involved in activity that went well beyond the norm in regards to Beckham. The team is convinced this took place and that it impacted Beckham's mindset in the game.
The NFL has yet to make any comments on the matter.
Hall of Fame cornerback Deion Sanders took La Canfora's report one step further and said that it was definitely Norman who threatened Beckham, and that the Panthers corner threatened to "end his career."
According to ESPN.com, that baseball bat was on the field thanks to a Panthers official, who brought it out before the game. At some point, Norman got a hold of the bat and started swinging it, a move that Beckham felt threatened by.
The tension from the pregame incident blew up in the third quarter when Beckham was flagged three times for unnecessary roughness. One of those penalties came after Beckham hit Norman with a direct helmet-to-helmet shot.
Norman also got flagged once for unnecessary roughness during the third quarter spat.
As for the bat, the Panthers claim there's an explanation for it.
Cornerback Bene Benwikere claims that no one was threatening Beckham and that the team has used the bat all season as a motivational object.
Benwikere, who's out for the season with a broken leg, also pointed out that several other teams use it. A Panthers source told ProFootballTalk that the Giants are only bringing up the bat "to distract from Beckham's antics."
It's hard to separate fact from fiction here, but two things are definitely true: The Panthers did bring a bat on the field and someone did point that bat at the Giants as they came out on the field (photo via Giants' Instagram).

Also, Norman definitely had possession of the bat at some point, however, there's no video evidence yet that shows him pointing it or swinging it in Beckham's direction (photo via Jay Glazer Instagram).

Beckham is facing the prospect of a one-game suspension for his antics and it's possible the Giants are using the bat as way to argue that Beckham shouldn't be suspended at all.
