Right? Show some respect like us Bruins fans.

I'm urinating on an Alex Delvecchio jersey as we speak

For the first time in my life I almost have the urge to say Lidstrom has taken over the number one spot for all time defensemen...

Maybe for the Wings, but they'll never be another Bobby Orr

Laughing my fucking ass off.

There was another guy.

EDIT: Also, Bourque, Harvey and Shore were better.

Bobby Orr-Only defenseman to win the scoring title (twice), 1st player to register 100 assists, only player ever to win the Norris (8), Hart (3), Art Ross (2), and Conn Smyth (2) trophies in the same season, first defenseman to score 30 goals, first defenseman to score 40 goals, second all time in plus/minus +597, holds records for most points in a season by a defenseman 139, most assists in a season by a defenseman 102, highest plus/minus in one season +124, was season plus/minus leader a record 6 times, tied for most assists in a game (6) for a defenseman with 6 others. There's more, but I think you see why Bruins fans, and many others, will always consider him the greatest defenseman ever (many Bruins fans consider him the greatest player ever).

Absolutely. All-time voting is always close between him and Gretzky. I'll take the best scorer in the league who also happens to be the best defensive defenseman. What a combo!

Plus, Gretzky was a pussy.

The only PLAYER to win the Norris, Hart, Art Ross, and Conn Smyth in the SAME season, and only d-man to win the scoring title which he did twice. We'll never see another defenseman like that ever again. Sad thing is he had to retire before his PRIME!!! Can you imagine what his numbers would be like if he played to 38 (ten more years)?

How old are you AJ? Did you get to see him play?

Nah, I was a Bourque guy. Born in a Bruins household, tho. Still got a baby photo of me with Wayne Cashman and Carol Vadnais. My dad gave me endless lectures on Orr. He told me Orr could just get the puck on his stick and the Garden faithful would stand up. Seventies hockey was a different animal. Some things are better, some things are worse. Even if only half the stories I hear are true, that was a great time to be a Bruins fan.

Sometimes I remember my dad's stories and think what pussies we hockey fans have become. Stuff that outrages us today was commonplace back then. Remember when the Bruins tried beating up Madison Square Garden? Imagine if that happened today.
