Rising Tide
What a crazy end to the BCS, and not over yet.
They will eventually need a 8 team playoff.
This. 4 is not enough and some good teams will be left out.

4 will be worse than the 2 we have now

How so? Putting 4 teams in vastly improves the odds of getting the best 2. It is about the best 2, right? I could give a shit less if the 4th best team gets left out or not. If it goes much more than 8 the reg season will start to lose meaning.
Only down side I see is a committee with no guidlines (yet another human poll, but with statistically insignificant #s). If it were a common sense committee to oversee the process with guidlines and transparency, cool.
BCS is going out with a bang
BCS had one goal- to get the best two teams together in a game. Most of the time, they got that right.
not all the time, but more often than not.
say what you want about the BCS, but I feel like in most years it does get it right. Now we are putting the fate of a season in the hands of a committee. Right now you have #3,4,5 bitching about being left out, now we will just have #4,5,6,7 complaining.
It was apparent that this year, the BCS got it right. Besides maybe 3 years in its existence, the BCS has always seemed to work itself out.
Yep. A BCS system should have been in play in 1994 and 1997, but the Big 10 and Pac 10 wouldn't go along with the Bowl Alliance or Bowl Coalition.
