6pm CT at the Death Star

part of me hopes Art Briles is gently and another part of me hopes he just breaks it off

there are a lot of Tech fans who have been annoying this season, and they need to be brought back to reality... especially with ALL the attention on Kingsbury and his youth, looks, etc... aside from attitude, nothing on the field has really changed

Baylor -27

if it was a night game in Lubbock, I might consider taking Tech... even though we've only only won like 4 conference games at home since 2009

but neutral field with our defense? my money is on Baylor unfortunately

I kind of expect it to be close for a while and then Baylor will just run away with it in the end... not really an ass whoopin, but a pretty clear win

I bet Baylor is covering late and Tech backdoor's a TD #degenerate.

USAToday ranks it the #5 game of the weekend, writing: "The Red Raiders have lost their last three, but can make an enormous splash by knocking off Baylor, riding high off last week's win over Oklahoma."

#35 Texas Tech vs. #4 Baylor (FOX)

--6:00 PM (CT)/7:00 PM (ET) at the Dallas Cowboys' stadium

--the two have played each other every single year since WW2 (1945), except for 1953-1955

--since 1996, Texas Tech leads the series 15-2 (the two Baylor wins were 2011, 2012)

--Texas Tech leads the all-time series 36-34-1

--Texas Tech is 0-3 in their last three (@Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Kansas State). Before that, Texas Tech was 8-0 over their last eight, dating back to their 45-52 loss to Baylor last year (Nov 24, 2012)

--Baylor is 12-0 in their last twelve games dating back to a 34-42 loss to Oklahoma last year (Nov 17, 2012)

This game will not be pretty, especially if none of the injured starters on defense are back.

Not really looking forward to going back to Waco in a couple of weeks to hear about this shit.

When Kingsbury was the quarterback of the Red Raiders, Briles was a part of the coaching staff. Briles had good things to say about his former quarterback. ‘He’s been around it all his life,’ Briles said of Kingsbury. ‘He’s very intelligent, driven and dedicated, very creative and he’s an achiever.’

Baylor's QB is without his best WR: Tevin Reese (out for the rest of the regular season with a dislocated wrist) "You can't replace a guy like Tevin, on or off the field,” Baylor QB Bryce Petty said. “Leadership and experience. It's a big loss."

and RB Lache Seastrunk (groin) and RB Glasco Martin (knee) are both questionable

“We'll have to compensate in a variety of ways,” Briles said.

Baylor is replacing track stars with track stars and running backs with a running back that averaged 8 ypc against OU on 22 carries.

Tech, between signing day and now, has lost 4 of its top 6 defensive lineman(2 to injury, 1 starter from last year to transfer, 1 behemoth to getting kicked off) and is now resorting to giving undersized walk-ons >50% of the snaps on the d line assuming Dennell Wesley and Dartwan Bush aren't back yet.

I would say one situation is better than the other, and that is without mentioning both starting safeties presumably being out and the most experienced linebacker being done as well.

With that said, it isn't much of an excuse for the ass whooping that is going to take place today. Tech just plain isn't very good on either side of the ball.

Texas Tech's DL that are listed on the depth chart for today look pretty good...

Richards 6-4 275 Jr-2L -- offers to LSU, Texas A&M, Arkansas, UCLA, UNC, etc
Jackson 6-4 248 So-1L -- offers to Southern Cal, Oregon, Mich State, UNC, West Virginia, etc
Alston 6-3 261 So-Tr -- offers to West Virginia, Miss State, etc
Hyder 6-2 290 Sr-3L -- offers to Utah, Minnesota, Iowa St, etc
Ofor 6-3 255 Jr-Tr -- transferred from D-II school
