Not talking Bird's accomplishments. Was talking about his style of play. Blocking shots, big dunks to rile a crowd, three points shots going down easily. Roughly the same size, both 6'9", Bird was a big heavier. And Larry's Indiana State teams were more than Bird and four space fillers. Carl Nicks was a #9 overall draft pick. And they played nobody. Sad MVC conference schedule and never really met a great team until the regional semis and Arkansas and Sidney Moncrief.
Bro, I just don't see how you can watch Flagg and see Bird. I'm not saying he isn't a good player, he certainly is. But he simply isn't Bird and his style is way different. Birds "big dunks" were not like this kid, he was nowhere near that kind of athlete. But Flagg is not the shooter and nowhere near the passer Bird was. And Bird was all time clutch. We'll see about Flagg. The only real thing they have in common is that they are 6'9" white dudes. If we need white guy comparison, I see a lot more Tom Chambers than Larry Bird

Granted, he's 16 games into his career and I'm comparing him to a legend. He could be Cherokee Parks II. His season percentages are not that far off from Larry's. He also shows up for big games. He laid an egg against Kansas but dominated against Kentucky, Arizona and Auburn. And he will put up huge numbers against a dogshit ACC. Just saying he has it in him and he a much more complete player than the last big Blue Devil, Zion.

Man he is a Heck of a player. It took him a few games but he's a full blown alpha now. I think his game is going to translate real well at the next level. The Dukies better enjoy him this year while they have him

Did love your Tom Chambers reference. Haven't thought about him in a long time. Those Utah teams with him and Danny Vranes were pretty good

Yeah they were. That's kind of who Flagg reminds me of. Nothing wrong with that, not the best player ever but he was DAMN good

Ole Miss with an upset of Bama on the road. SEC is loaded this year. I’m watching the Gators play Missouri now.

Iowa St beat Kansas with ease tonight, Cyclones have a very impressive team from what I’ve seen, I think they’re Final Four caliber. Kansas hasn’t been quite as good as expected this year but is still a good team.

Massive grats to (previously) winless Minnesota for their delicious 84-81 OT humbling of (previously) lossless #20 Michigan.
Goldy played a great game... deserved the W.

Auburn survives a scare at Georgia.

At this time, there's seven teams above everyone else. Auburn, Iowa State, Duke, Alabama, Florida and Marquette. And I think Iowa State is the best. Two point loss to Auburn. Beat Marquette, slaughtered Baylor and Kansas.

v'been whining for attention to Izzo's unranked, unrecognized kids since before their Maui W over UNC 27.NOV...
those kids have won 10 straight, are 16-2 / 7-0 and just jumped 4 slots to #8 AP and Coaches today.

lol... and several of those unrecognized kids aren't unrecognizable any longer... Coen Carr, it is said (and I agree) is the greatest Spartan athlete ever.

Bama beats Vandy and Tennessee beats Miss St in SEC action tonight. Bama with over 100 points again, they can really score. SEC is loaded with strong teams this season.

Some great CBB action today - Houston over Kansas in 2 OTs was awesome, great road win for Houston. Auburn also won a low scoring thriller against Tennessee. My Gators blew out Georgia, while Vandy upset Kentucky. Lots of good action today

Good road win for OU (15-4, 2-4). Currently, Joe Lunardi has 13 SEC teams in the field (out of 16). If OU can go 6-6 the rest of the way that'd put them at 21-10, 8-10 plus the SEC tournament. It won't be easy. The SEC is stacked.
