Good to hear he's working hard and sounds like he will be ready in 2015 unless they give him some reps soon.

I would really like to see him succeed in the NFL. He's a great guy and a really hard worker. One of those guys I hated to see leave Bama for more reasons than just his playing ability (which was outstanding at Bama).

Yeah I think he can be a cornerstone at Center for us, but they said it takes 1 full year to heal from this injury and he's 1 month away from it being 1 year.

I don't know if I'm rushing the kid back to protect Clemens' back.

Yep, I think Wells is done especially with Barnes and Jones available. Cap money will be saved with releasing Wells. They can the resign Saffold or go draft pick like a Matthews or Kouandijo.

Weird tho, they say it takes a full year to fully heal from his injury, but he played in the Preseason so I don't really understand why he isn't in there.

I wouldn't mind having Wells back next year for one more year. Not sure what his contract status is but he's actually pretty good at making sure the line calls are being made. Might not be the Center he once was but having Jones learn from could be really really huge.

jacobarch, Jones dressed for the game in Arizona. He was on the field for the pregame and he was on the sidelines the rest of the way. He looks much bigger and more stout. They are probably setting him up for training camp but all that work he has done to rehab the foot and in the weight room has paid off. He is pretty damn large!!!

do you think Barnes is a suitable back up tho? And what if Jones sucks? haha arrrg i hate having too many young players on the field. It just means another season with a lot of mistakes.

Barnes played pretty well and Jones may be the back-up because Barnes is playing better than Wells right now. He is a bigger player and picks up blitzes better than Wells. I am fairly certain Wells is going to be a cap casualty.

Jones was on one hell of a football team at Bama and was the leader on that Oline. If he comes out the year before he's probably a 2nd/3rd rounder and for a center that's pretty awesome. The fact that he was hurt and went in the 4th is still saying something.

He knows how to win. Back to back national titles at Bama. I like this guy a lot for our Oline.

Yea SJ76. When I saw him on Sunday at the stadium I couldn't believe it was the same guy. He really has gotten much bigger and he has lost some of that belly fat he had at BAMA. All that time in the weight room and rehabbing the foot may pay big dividends next year.
