Well, they can count however they want but none of the teams listed have played BYU enough times to make up
the difference.

But I gotta tell ya...anybody that counts BYU as a P5 is nuts. Hell, they only played 4 P5 teams,m themselves
last year.

The SEC rule about scheduling P5 opponents went into effect the same year the ACC also put in the same rule...2019. It is also the same year that the ACC decided that BYU would count as a P5 opponent for scheduling purposes, so anybody includes FSU....nuts indeed.

That rule has been in place for a couple of years, and every team has followed it since it went into place. In any event, the P5 distinction has included ND and BYU. Why BYU warrants it is a separate question.

I don't believe that. (Unless it just happened)

We've just completed our 6th year of the Playoff ERA (Power5 era)

If that rule is actual...then all teams would have played a minimum of 6 games vs an OOC P5 team.

6 SEC teams have scheduled against less than 6 OOC P5 teams.

Ole Miss 4
Missouri 5
TX AM 5

LOL.. aggy played and beat TX state, Lamar, UTSA and claimed Champions of Texas lol.. That's why I find it funny when people bring up Tech and them to play this fall if the Pac falls out.. they would rather play Praire View

I should add, nice replacement by Alabama and logical. They looked at teams that also scheduled a PAC 12 team

It probably came down to Michigan, Okie State, BYU, and TCU. I wonder if they called Jimbo?

Hawaii
Colorado State
Idaho State
New Mexico State
Portland State
William & mary
North Dakota State
Utah State
Michigan
Oklahoma State
BYU

the crap schools playing other California schools

Hell I am not sure our governor will allow gyms and facilities to open. The rest of the country will be open minus Michigan, Cali, and NY.

Who was the P5 team on the Arkansas schedule last year...
Portland St, Colorado St, San Jose St or Western Ky?

This would help us continue to bash Bamas poor OOC scheduling. Make it happen!

No SEC school below the Tennessee/Alabama state line has worse OOC scheduling than Florida.

The SEC rule about playing a P-5 NCO was adopted in 2014 & went into effect in 2016, but some teams have managed to skirt around it (maybe because of games that were already scheduled before the rule went into effect?).

The SEC also considers games against Notre Dame, BYU & Army to count as P-5 opponents, but I am not sure why those last two made the cut.
BYU could go either way but Army makes no sense in being counted as P5. Army is equal to Navy and Air Force IMO. Both of which are in in G5 conferences...unless one subscribes to the AAC commissioner's stance.
