Again, there weren't a lot of options. What better options were out there for him to spend money on? Doing something just to do it is a good way to wind up like the angels.

Just think he could done something besides signing aj and berkman. Maybe if not free agents then by trades.

So you have no real solution or suggestions on how he could've done better? You just want to play the blame game.

I just want him to do something. He did nothing in the off season. He has all this cash and he does not want to spend it. Is prospects are not cutting it.
Not a heck of a whole lot to do this trading deadline. No one is selling. Everyone is still in it.

I was talking about the off season. Last year he refused to trade olt when he had more value. Now he may be trading him for a possible rental player.

Actually he didn't refuse to trade Olt. Reports were he offered Olt as part of the package for Upton.

The Rangers look like a minor league team out there. Injuries have finally caught up to them.

Stating the obvious here but adding that extra wild card has really made the excitement of the trade deadline not existent. IMO, teams will end up getting burned by holding on to guys they normally would have gotten good prospects for.....for what? To play in what comes down to a "play in game" to get into the playoffs. But you're right, if the goal of a lot of these teams is to get into the playoffs(i can't bring myself to call it that) then most everyone IS still in it.

Now Olt may be the hold up. I feel your pain.

The two teams I look at each day, Philly and the Rockies. Both at or below .500 won't be sellers cause they still think they are in it. Helps when no one is really running away with their division.

It will take a few years of teams getting burned by not trading away guys before teams start being more real about their situations.

It seems everyone is swinging for a homer on this team, and as we all can witness it doesn't work

Somebody needs to step up and take charge of this team. If they can't hit, pitch, steal bases, know when to take a pitch etc, then teach them. Lot of talent on this team not to be playing better fundamental ball.

Like I've said before, I truly believe wash has lost the clubhouse. Time for a new voice.
