That is the part is laughed at with the statement. Also, if he took the loan from a ‘family friend’ to fly his family to the Rose Bowl. Why didn’t his family ask the family friend for the money themselves?!?

The guy is still a beast, but from the sounds of it, he didn’t go to OSU to play school.
Might want to clarify that this is his family.

Question for you in that regard...how much money would this "family friend" need to fly his family to Pasadena, California and put them up in a hotel for at least two days? :noidea:

And what the heck did he do to pay that much money off in one summer?

Cryptic, I know, but rumors floating about a 'significant' player not available for an undetermined amount of time.

Hopefully, not Justin Fields or Chase Young.

whoops

Maybe it was his idea? :noidea:

Speaking to an NCAA compliance expert on the Chase Young situation: "If it is a loan he repaid and can prove it--one game suspension might be enough." #OhioState
Please let this be true, because the butthurt from everyone but Ohio State fans will be Epic.

1. Player received money/loan for family to travel to Rose Bowl. Not his mom or dad etc., he received the money.
2. In his own words "...family friend I've known since the summer before my freshman year...". Family friend gained after his commitment to tOSU.
3. Repaid the loan. Going to need to see some paperwork, preferably legal in nature.
4. The timing of this is suspect to say the least.
5. Its the NCAA, anything or nothing is possible.
Hopefully he did pay it back.

Why do you say the timing is suspect?

Ive never understood why kids like this dont just go get unsecured loans from actual banks or take out student loans for money. If youre a surefire 1st rounder pretty much any bank will give you a loan and defer repayment til youre drafted.

Rules are there for a reason. Im curious how it was found out now and also why he was dumb enough to do this.

Don’t know the details. But for me I ask these questios. Did he hurt anyone? No. Is cfb better for the suspension? No.

The story coming out now in the nitty gritty of your season.
yeah its too bad. I would love to think there is some conspiracy but I dont like the shoot the messenger mentality.

In the rules of today they probably are better. The NCAA is too sporadic with their suspensions but it shows even a top player cant take money.

Is that how many people he flew out? I was thinking, mom and dad.
If he flew 12 people out, I’m guessing the ‘family friend’ gave him a nice chunk of change.

Odd to me it comes out now though?!? Did he tell the ‘family friend’ he was going with a different ‘family friend’ at the draft, so the guy let it slip out now?

If the worse thing he did was get a loan to get his family a trip then I sort of respect the guy for it.

This system is stupid and deserves to die.

So you'll opt for conspiracy if it's a game or 2?
I think its entirely likely this has been being looked at for awhile and the school said " if we suspend him now will he be back for PSU and Michigan ?"

Two game suspension.

Two of the three worst B1G teams next up on the schedule.

Perfect.
